I have had several listings removed and the emails state, they weren’t meeting our Creativity Standards for craft supplies sourced by sellers and were removed by their automated system. These are original items I make, they are not sourced items, and are not craft supplies as stated in the email. I tried to ask for help by submitting a case, but was sent a generic email reply and the case was closed without any further assistance... There should be a way to get a human to assist with this error. These listings are not sourced items, but are in fact original items we have been making and selling for years on Etsy. They are also NOT craft supplies as the email states, and are in the correct category on Etsy when listed. How can I get a real person to assist and restore these listings?
Just looked at my support ticket, Etsy relisted my product.
Hello Ed,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
After reviewing your account, we’ve determined that your listing was suspended in error. Your listing has been reinstated and should be searchable on Etsy within the next 20 minutes.
Same issue here. 5 years selling items we make, our designs, items used to craft a final item, not finished products. No human help at all... just automated system messages. Funny were both in the same category with "metal" items
@TexasMetalMakers you will need to either go through chat (I'd probably save that as a last option) or the help/contact button on your shop dashboard and look for an option or at least one that gets you a callback or email. If they think you are asking about deactivations they may or may not answer you. Keep at it. Ask chat to pass you on to the correct team as your handmade items have been removed as a not allowed supply item.
Same issue, we've been selling for 8 years, handmade metal blanks. Ridiculous.
@222Steel It sounds like blanks are allowed, as long as they can't be used on their own.
For example, if it's something that could be used as a coaster or wall decor, as well as being a legit supply, then it probably isn't Etsy-legal. But if it's extremely far-fetched to assume that there are other uses for your items, they should be allowed. Don't be afraid to ask Etsy for clarification! (But do it thru "Help" rather than Chat).
Same issue...as of yesterday our items are being removed by Etsy. Probably some idiot of a software developer or wanna-be manager deciding to make a name for themselves. I hope they fix that soon, otherwise Etsy is just not worth the hassle. It's a cute platform but so dumb that if they don't fix their mess I will just de-list and move on.
Automotive and bike parts and repair parts are now disallowed as of June 10th unless possibly you are making them yourself. No longer allowed as a supply.
You can't use the Tesla trademark on your handmade items - or anyone elses trademark
@hopeandjoystudios We make them ourselves
@CraftyCornishMaids we don't use the Tesla logo on our items 🤷🏻
yeah you have Tesla Cybertruck in your titles. Another photo has an image of the TV show The Witcher.
IP isn't a joke. You CAN be sued. And they will win.
And anything you sold, with those images are forever, and can be found years later. Rethink is my suggestion (or get permission....from Tesla etc)
@gettwraps then I would investigate if Handmade auto parts are still allowed and if so reach out to Etsy with your proof they are handmade by you not a supply. I know they disallowed them in supplies. Are they still allowed as handmade or are they disallowing them on the entire site? Not sure. Try the Help link and see if you can get any info.
We are actually allowed to use it to indicate our product is made to fit a particular vehicle. This is under IP law's "permissible use", so we comply.
I really appreciate you folks chiming in and I wish you best of luck resolving this for your stores, but I will be clocking off from Etsy...Etsy was never a meaningful marketplace for us anyway. There's no way to contact a human, so if they want to shrink their catalog, they have the full right to do so and I for one couldn't care less if their bottom line suffers based on that decision.
your items are being removed, for violating etsy creativity standards,
you should read them
Hi
Etsy removed my listing just because I swapped the photos that were added to the listing. A minute after swapping the photos that were over a year old, Etsy removed the listing due to Creativity Standards. Someone is probably using my photos. This is the second item in 3 days that has been removed.
Can someone advise me on this. I didn't think something like this could happen. It seems I can't edit my listings because it will result in the listing being removed.
Are you listing them as a supply? I think the former supply> storage> organization boxes and bins categories were removed. If you are handmaking them yourself and listing them as handmade, they may just be getting erroneously removed.
@MadeInWooden: "A minute after swapping the photos that were over a year old, Etsy removed the listing due to Creativity Standards." The bots seem to check when a listing is created, renewed and / or edited.
"Someone is probably using my photos." Possible, and if that is the case unfortunately the law says it is your responsibility to protect your intellectual Property.
Keep in mind that "violated Etsy's creativity standards" can include anything from a 'prohibited' word in your title, description, or tags, to a discontinued category, to a non-conforming primary image, to being misclassified in core details, to intellectual property infringements, and lot in between.
Same issue here! I design my own shapes and paper clips and have them made through a production partner I have listed on every item. They are listed in the correct category of Office & School Supplies > Home & Living > Office > Office & School Supplies.
I've been selling these for 6+ years. They are NOT craft supplies.
Today I have also received an email removing 4 of 11 coins I put on yesterday to add to my 400 + others, with no reason apart from look at the endless pages of reasons which don't explain anything. They should spend more time fixing items that don't work, such as the location button on shop header page, and also cancel this stupid test where it's difficult to access shops other items from looking at a single item. ETSY why don't you leave sellers alone??? Regards, Rastroboy
Are they over 20 years old?
per other threads...nope. Brand new.
you can't sell legal currency here
You have items listed in your shop that are simply not allowed here.
You can’t sell coins from 2010 as they are not handmade, vintage or supplies to make crafts.
It is very, very common to see coin sellers breaking the rules. I’m glad they are finally cracking down on it.
You need to remove the illegal items before they are removed for you, or risk permanent shop closure.
edited.
Does anyone know what clip art and procreate brushes should be listed as? Would it be a supply or tool to make things?
