They have this banner that I have to upload my personal info.
They want my driver's license. I upload it, but it will not let you submit.
And yes, my images are over 10K in size.
Tried multiple browsers.
Anyone else run into this?
Why would Etsy need a copy of your drivers license? That doesn’t sound right. Mark as spam in my opinion.
No. It's not spam. Etsy IS requiring all of us to upload our photo IDs. Do not ignore the banners on your dashboard.
@BeachPleaseCreations: Etsy asking for a government ID to verify the account owner is legitimate https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001980067-How-to-Verify-Your-Seller-Information-for-Etsy-...
Yes…I posted the solution awhile back. You are only able to upload ONE document (even though it says you can upload up to 7). This is a known glitch to Esty Support and has been happening for quite sometime. So if you have fronts/backs or any other documentation, put it all on one document and upload that one document…then you should be able to submit.
This Worked for me. The way they have this set up is stupid! It makes no sense and isn't intuitive at all.
Read your instructions mine did work until I took a picture of it on a dark background and it did not work with the pdf. And this was after I had to get a callback from support.
Mine uploaded...make sure it's a jpeg or png - if you use your phone and send it to your desktop it could be a heic and that won't work. At any rate, once it's uploaded, the tool doesn't work anyway. It'll glitch over and over.
I had to upload my license 4 times. Take a photo. Email it to yourself; save it to your computer. Upload to your Dashboard from your computer; it should be jpeg or png file. If you do it correctly and it is recognized, you will be verified in MINUTES, and the banner will go away. If the banner doesn't go away, you will need to re-upload it.
********** This is just based on my experience the last week.
Another seller reported that their jpeg didn't work, and Etsy suggested other file formats for sellers having issues.
That and combining the files into one are the two workarounds I know of.
I had problems, but Etsy support walked me through it. Upload your photo as a pdf file and only do one at a time. Then I got it to work. I have to say Etsy solved my problem through Chat fairly quickly.
I uploaded my ID, license on the 9th with confirmation email it was received. My account also said verified.
Today I again tried to do the requested "update" before funds are withheld & it said it RED no ID. I clicked on it was directed to a new page, resubmitted the photo & was then told my account was placed in VACATION MODE while they verify it for 10 days!
Please Cindy, @cindylouwho2 or anyone can you help me get the VACATION Mode off sooner, it will tank my pettily sales to nothing!!!!
@ShimmyBoutique unfortunately, I am not aware of anything to speed this up once you successfully upload.
Your shop is back open. That was fast! Please share with others how you made that happen? Lots of people are going through this right now.
This exact same thing happened to me. There's a second scary yellow banner in the Payment Account, warning of holding funds. What you need to do is upload your ID there AGAIN, and you'll be good to go. That's what I had to do. It was then *finally* done. So exhausting and stressful.
Yes it was, couple hours!
I don't know. I fired off an email, maybe got Lucky & someone saw it.
Or it was the offering to the Goddesses! Those gals got my back! LOL!
Still no sales since they did it tho?
I also have had 2 emails in response???? They never addressed the Vaca mode or even acknowledged it, just why they need info yada yada yada.....
P.S.
I did this at 6:30pm. Off hour,s maybe they were less swamped?
Yes!! It's driving me crazy!!!
It's scary we don't even know if a driver licence can end up on the dark web.
