Etsy Support is a joke

This company is clueless to how they're operating. Came back to Etsy early in 2022, updated bank, etc. Was fine for months selling. Then out of nowhere they wanted us to reverify our bank account through PLAID. We attempted this over several weeks and it failed every single time. What a joke, it was the right business bank account number as we have a dedicated one for Etsy, multiple entries with full account number including leading zeros and without. When reaching out to Etsy support, they said ohhh, okay yeah, we removed your bank account for you, now add it back and try again. So, we went to do it and clicked the button, and nothing happened. Nothing loaded, nothing moved. We reached out to Etsy again and now they're like unfortunately we couldn't verify your details during Etsy Payments signup. Huh? We didn't sign up for Etsy payments? They proceeded to remove the button to add a bank account. You have to upload a document of your address they say. Wtf Etsy. We did and now they're like you need to upload a copy of your ID. Wow! So unorganized and there's nothing on the actual account when you login to do any of this. They literally have someone in email sending links to their upload page. 

Etsy, this shouldn't of taken so long, you failed miserably. You dragged this on for weeks on end when the account was fine accepting payments and operating smoothly before.

Etsy's support is zilch to nothing.  This is something they should have worked on a long time ago.  Hope you get it all straightened out.

The other issue is we only have Verizon Wireless as a utility bill. There's no gas, phone, cable/satellite (No cable in area. Satellite sucks), electric(solar) or water(well) here.  Hopefully they accept that. We uploaded a copy of a bank statement and state business registration which both show address.

Maybe next time they raise fees more sellers will speak out and strike, we are suppose to have more CS  since fees went up we have NADA! But we pay more so Etsy looks good to its investors.

I'm sorry you're not receiving help and hope this gets straightened out for you.

I am confused about something.  You're in the U.S., where we are supposed to accept Etsy Payments.  In your Shop Policies, I don't see a form of payment (pardon if I'm just not seeing something obvious)

You aren't seeing things.  It appears they have been gone for some time so maybe had standalone Paypal and Etsy payments.  Now Etsy wants verification that it is the owner of the shop.  Id probably.

With hackers taking over shops Etsy may be very conservative when a seller returns.

How did you approach Etsy?  Through chat or email.  I never use chat as they are not fully versed in some things.

If you have an email from Etsy, reply back that the information received back was incorrect and that you need th account area opened up again to verify with Plaid.

Are you sure you entered the correct routing number?  It's the account number first then the routing number if doing manual.  Some have said that either a 0 needed to be addd or removed.

I used instant and had no problems.  I also am not afraid that this compromised my account in any way.  There are more things that are more likely to compromise my account than Plaid.

IF you think Etsy is clueless why did you come back?  Etsy support works but with so many to deal with mistakes are made but it does work if patience is taken to explain simply what is needed.  And did you research the changes that have happened since you left previously.  Etsy is not the same as it was several years ago.

I'm sorry you went through all that. I've had nothing but amazing service and support.  I was able to do the PLAID update with no issues. Hope you figured it out
