Message from buying prior to opening of my shop affecting Star Seller status

I made a purchase unrelated to my shop. This was prior to even opening my shop. I did not have to respond to the message sent for the product I purchased because it was just notification of a change of shipping date. Somehow this was factored into my Etsy star seller stats. I am not sure why as it does not pertain to my shop in any way and was actually done prior to the opening of my new shop. How can this be fixed?

@CraftyLadiesWorkshop: If the new thread was prior to your opening your shop it will have gone away before you have meet the 90 day requirement as Star Seller only considers the three month period.

Thank you for the response!  It seems like a flaw in the system as a response to a product purchase should not effect your seller status.  Glad it should drop off before my 90 days though.

Re: Message from buying prior to opening of my shop affecting Star Seller status

@CraftyLadiesWorkshop: As a warning - the Star Seller metric is that the FIRST message of a NEW thread must be replied to within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it (be it buyer, seller, spammer, or your best friend), the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else. If it is SPAM then it should be marked as such. Those have always been the rules.

Subsequent messages from the same account (a buyer may have multiple accounts) are supposed to be combined into a single thread. Etsy is now putting a blue text warning / advisory on those messages they consider to be a "new message" but should semantically be called a "new thread".

Help Requests always start a new thread.

If you are creating a custom listing based on a new thread, you still need to reply to the message.

Cancellation requests in a new thread must be replied to in the actual message - replies using the cancellation form do not count as a response.

Hmmm!  That's an interesting twist I hadn't seen or thought of before!

To be judged on your excellence as a Seller, before you were ever a Seller.
