I don't understand why I was charged a marketing fee of $6.00 for my last order (8/26). It was a direct order to Etsy? How can I get this removed?
Here is a link about Etsy fee basics

Do you know if I can get paid through PayPal? This site has a poor policy of not being able to contact someone physically. It is very confusing.

You're in the US, the US has been mandatory Etsy Payments for a good 5 years now. Buyers can pay with PP, but it goes direct to Etsys PP acc, before being disbursed to your EP account. As a seller, you can't link up your PP account anymore to take payment directly via PP.
Sounds like an 'Off-site Ads' fee. They can add up to quite a large percentage. Off-site ads are 'on' by default but you can opt out (if you meet the required criteria).

Yes!
Go to Stats, scroll down to off site ads, and then select to turn them off (you can only turn them off if you've sold under $10K in the lifetime of your shop).
I did turn it off just now. I am way below the lifetime sales.
You can expect OSA fees on sales for the next 30 days if you only just turned it off today.
@JACKIESNEEDLEDESIGNS You can't get paid with PayPal.
@JACKIESNEEDLEDESIGNS said "I am way below the lifetime sales"
Offsite Ad Fees are determined by YEARLY sales, not lifetime sales. If your sales are below $10K, you can turn them off (just like you did); however if your sales ever go above $10K within that year, Etsy will auto enroll you back into OSA's and you cannot ever turn them back off.
