Etsy Email verificaton problem

hi .. iv just had a message from etsy which shows both on my etsy account and came through my email stating my account has been suspended until i provide my email account so etsy can send me a verification form.  I have replied to this message with my email ( which is already registered to my etsy account for many years ) but every time i try to respond to the message with my email address it keeps then saying this is not a valid etsy user.  Im incredibly confused by this ! i wondered if any of you etsy sellers have had this ? thanks in advance . diane

It's a scam.  You cannot reply because the sender's account has already been identified as a scamming one and has been removed.  Put that message into spam.

You were messaging with a scammer, not Etsy. Etsy identified their account and removed it, which is why it's showing as an invalid Etsy user. 

If the message is not in the 'from Etsy' section, it's a scam. 

Has it happened to others? Yes, just search the forum for 'scam emails' and you'll probably find thousands of posts being a variation of yours.

ah i did wonder that so as an experiment i tried buying on of my own designs but it would not allow me to !?? thats why i thought it must be legit .. i would be relieved if it is a scam as i was getting busy with christmas orders so became a bit concerned when i could not purchase my own as if i was a shopper .. strange experiment i know ! but i was in a panic ! .. hopefully all is ok !

No, you can't buy from yourself because that would be manipulation of the data showing you have sales that you don't actually have. And you could give yourself reviews which would be considered shilling.

That is a SCAM email, Go into your own email and change the password now!  Put filters on your email too.

Etsy doesn't verify your email.. they don't need to. Scammers will do whatever it takes to get your personal info this year,

thanks so much everyone !! i was so confused and was in a panic ! i thought i was quite savvy on these things but iv yet so much to learn about modern life and technology ! thanks again ... so very much appreciated x
