Etsy Coupons

Just had a customer use a coupon in my store. I do not allow coupons. Why and how did this happen? Anyone know?

Was the amount deducted from the sale? If so, you have an active coupon. If not, it's an Etsy coupon. Etsy sometimes sends their own coupons to buyers. The Etsy coupons give a discount, but it is not deducted from your revenue. Etsy pays it.

Just checked money account. Etsy gave us the full amount. I get it now~!~

There are 2 kinds of coupons, coupons you set up and coupons that Etsy occasionally give out.  If you haven't set up any coupons then it would have to be one of Etsy's which can be used in any store no matter what you do or don't allow.  

Check your payment account.  Did you get the full amount you were owed?  If so, it was an Etsy coupon.  The customer gets the discount and you get paid what you would have gotten paid if there had been no discount.

Just went and checked your shop.  It was definitely an Etsy coupon.  This is a good thing.  Out of millions of items on Etsy they chose to use their coupon for something in your shop.

I see an Etsy coupon code available when I add an item to my cart.

@NanaLetha I'm pretty sure that shows on every cart in every shop now. I see it every time I check out, no matter what shop I'm in and even though I've never gotten a coupon from Etsy.

This is true.  However it was definitely an Etsy coupon, because the OP doesn't have a spot to use  a shop coupon, which he would if he had any active coupons.

Edited to add:  I've never received an Etsy coupon either.

@ChristmasIsLove  - I guess that's correct because I see the same thing in your shop. Etsy never sent me a coupon code either.
