I have a store based in Florida and the sales tax being charged by Etsy is LESS than the base 6% sales tax. Been selling on Etsy for several years without any sales tax issues until this week. I am the one who submits the sales tax to the state since I am based here. The sales tax short comings from these orders will have to come out of my pocket. Chat support was useless as usual. They refuse to acknowledge the problem even with all the proof and simple math. I have a record of that fun conversation.
Any advice from anyone at all?

I'm in AZ and they are charging me the correct amount of sales tax. Is it only buyers from Florida that are being charged the wrong amount?
@VictorySportsGraphic Florida has had a Marketplace Facilitator law in place since 2021. Here is an article on it. https://www.taxjar.com/blog/05-21-florida-marketplace-facilitator-law
You aren't the responsible party, Etsy is. If Etsy screws up the amount, that is Etsy's problem, not yours. You are no longer the responsible party. If you've been sending Florida sales tax, you've been paying it out of your pocket for no reason.
Read the article explaining how the law works. Hope this helps.

You will still need to file a sales tax report, but your Etsy sales should be listed as "Tax Exempt". Ditto if you sell on Ebay or Amazon or any other marketplace.
You are spot on!!
