I'm on my desktop and an oversized pop-up says to scan the QR code to download the Etsy app. to access exclusive deals.

Why am I seeing this on my desktop?

It shows on the desktop in case the person viewing has their mobile device handy to scan the QR code to download the app (if they haven't already)

Etsy are promoting the app to desktop/browser users. Simple as that. It's possible that pop up appears for users viewing Etsy using a browser on a mobile device as well.

It's driving me mad! Every time I click on a page it's there! It would definitely put me off buying / browsing, therefore I would imagine it would put others off buying from me also. SO annoying. Just got rid of the 'favourites' pop up, now this this. GGGGRRR.

Same issue here and I have the identical response - it's annoying! I too already have the Etsy app. I agree that if I was a browsing buyer I would cease shopping on Etsy for this reason, as I've done with other online platforms. Please Etsy, STOP these annoying pop-ups for everyone - sellers and buyers. Thank you.

It is definitely annoying me, especially since I do already have the app and use it for adding new listings and checking messages.

An AdBlocker worked for me to keep it from showing up every darn time I logged in to Etsy on my desktop. Now thankfully, I'm not bothered by it any longer. I already had the app anyway.

I have the app, too. I understand they are trying to get you to get the app, but geez give it a break already.
