Re: Error answering messages

If the “buyer” is asking for your email, it’s a scam that’s been targeting new sellers. Etsy may already have blocked this person, which is why you’re getting an error message. You can mark the message as spam.

Re: Error answering messages

@Designwithilay: What error message?

If the message is something like "User Name is Invalid" usually that message means that the account has been closed (either by the user or by Etsy). Just in case, you should make sure to mark the message as SPAM (at last report you cannot do that using the app, only a browser, even your mobile browser).

If you are getting the "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled" advisory, and not to discount the fact that your messaging may have been disabled in error, generally it is because the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages. While you are waiting for Etsy to reactivate your messaging you may want to read the "Dos and Don'ts of Communicating With Customers" https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/26590492608

Re: Error answering messages

Your shops shows no sale, so I'm betting this is the scam that is going around. If it says the "user name is invalid", it's because etsy already identified them as a spammer.

As stated above, mark the message as spam. DO NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. Buyers do not need your email address to purchase. Nor your E(mail) address or any weird spelling they come up with. You don't need to "verify" anything from a bogus email from etsy.

Mark the message as spam and continue with your shop. Be hyper-aware and suspicious, because they target new shops, hoping you are naive and don't understand how etsy works.
