Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

I keep getting error messages when trying to edit an old either sold out or inactive listing when I try to renew the listing.  I have to switch to the old listing manager (that is going away) to edit and renew.  Each time all y edits are lost so I need to recreate all of them. This is getting frustrating.

"Hm, we're having trouble saving your changes. Try again, and if this keeps happening contact Etsy support"

Etsy support is useless.  How can I really get this fixed before the old listing manager goes away - or should I just stop putting listings on Etsy????

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

I've been having this error for a few weeks, Etsy told me to clear the cache and try in another browser. Nothing fixes the issue. The workaround is to open in the old form but that is going away on the 25th, after which, if the bug isn't fixed, I'll be stuck not able to renew an out of stock listing.

Your not alone and it doesn't appear anyone at Etsy knows how to fix it. Here's one thread on the subject, there are others.

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

Well that's given me some comfort knowing it's not just me. Come 25th of June when the old form goes offline, I'm going to have to move 3000+ listings to another platform.

I know Etsy doesn't monitor the forums the way they used to - or at least, they don't respond if they do. But you'd think there'd be some algorithm that would alert them when words like "move 3000+ listings to another platform" occur.  We shouldn't have to be worrying about whether the new listing form *works* once we have no other alternative!

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

I've been trying to renew/edit and getting the same result as @HolidaysLane mentioned.

I contacted Etsy help and at the time I was told to switch to the old listing (also, after trying to clear cache and even changed my laptop to new one <it was about the time anyway so I tried to eliminate the fact that it might be due to old something at my side.>.)

Now we see the warning says the old listing will be gone...as long as the option is there, I don't have to worry and I hope Etsy can address on that point.  All of us should keep trying to let Etsy know and hopefully at least as a temporally fix, Etsy can lift the time limit for the old listing.

I really hope that we can stay here and continue to sell.  It's taking twice as much time with 0 outcome for each listing and it's wasting so much time of my day and I have no idea for what to do when the old listing tool will be gone....

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

The only solution I have found which works instantly.

Activate the listing, then go in to edit and republish. I have had no issues doing it this way (same listing whilst in de draft or deactivated folder would not save once edited)

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

@CraftyCornishMaids I've been trying it every time by different browser (simply renew it first) but it won't let me...odd thing is with the warning message "if it continues contact Etsy" it asks me to update the quantity which old listing never asked...

Error message is same as other sellers are mentioning.  When I contacted Etsy and tried everything they said, I was told to go back to Old listing tool but now I feel so uneasy as I know the old tool is retiring...

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

I am renewing mine multiple times a day.

if it's recently sold out, try renewing it from the orders page

The only one I had an issue with, was with one with an old shipping profile.

@CraftyCornishMaids WOW!  Renew from sold worked.  At least I found the way to go around.  Thank you so much!  I will continue to try but until I get the perfect answer, this really helps!

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

@CraftyCornishMaids Now it will be my new game of the day to go to the sold items and find which one I want to renew!  I would never thought about trying this way.  Until the fix will be out, I will continue this game (and using the old listing tool.)

Re: Error Trying to Edit and Renew a Sold Out/inactive Listing in New Dashboard

@CraftyCornishMaids I also learned from another seller that by clicking the gear mark at each items at listing page, (bottom right corner), you can renew and I tried and it worked.  I can avoid "finding game" by doing it.  I though I would share for anyone who's looking for work around ways.

The issues I have come across which prompt "if it continues contact Etsy" can more often than not be solved without contacting Etsy.

Check every section, make small changes.

Maybe I am just impatient or stubborn, probably both, but I do not have time to wait for someone who may or may not fix something.

It usually takes less than 5 min to figure out and seconds the next time as you become aware of what is causing the "if it continues contact Etsy" prompt
