I just launched my shop early this evening then shortly after received an email from sender Etsy via Square stating that my account was suspended pending verification of my credit card. Other than the email I have no messages or notifications to that effect on the Etsy site or Etsy mobile. I feel like this is a scam. Why would Etsy need MY card information to sell especially since I’ve just made recent purchases as a buyer on Etsy & have been a buyer for almost 10 years. My card information hasn’t changed & again why would that info be necessary as a seller?
Scam. Your shop is not suspended. There is no credit card verification on Etsy.
Scam. Whenever etsy needs financial or identification information, there will be a message ON YOUR DASHBOARD.
They do not contact via email.
You can click on your store and see that it's not suspended.
@StudioReverieVintage If its the same shop you're posting under, it's not suspended.
Look in your dashboard under Finance > Payment Settings > Billing. It's a default payment method.
All you have to do is l;ook at your shop. If it were suspended it would have a banner and say something along the lines of xxxx is taking a short break or xxx is currently not selling on Etsy. Since your shop is shown as open for business it is not suspended.
Obviously this is a SCAM!

The original post says its an email, not a internal shop message.
