I am no longer receiving emails from Etsy. I've checked and everything is OK with my email address. Can someone share how I can get email notifications again? Thanks for the help.
@HandmadebyKathieK Hi, It's been so long since I've done this, so I went back and retraced my steps.
By your Avatar (top Right of page), Your Account > Account Settings > Emails > Your Notifications. Check what you wish to receive.
I hope this is what you need.
Unfortunately that does not include the order email or the shipping notification. If the OP is not receiving those it is more likely her email provider is blocking,
@HandmadebyKathieK email for what?
It could be that your email provider is blocking Etsy, or it could be a setting within your email client. You might need to specifically add the Etsy domain to your contacts?
You can add Etsy to your email whitelist just in case that is the issue & recheck your Etsy email settings in case something "changed". Many sellers in the forum over the years have reported that they stopped getting email notifications for sales/messages. All of their settings are correct, they confirmed with their email provider that nothing was being blocked on their end too. For some sellers, it really seems as if the issue is on Etsy's end as changing their email address didn't even rectify the issue. Some sellers get emails only sporadically, or they stop & start again throughout time. Don't rely on emails from Etsy to know if you have sales/messages. Come to your shop daily to check.
You have been here a long time, lots of sales, so it does seem like it might be a glitch? Lovely shop, by the way.
Etsy emails have been spotty for over a year, I think. For all notifications. They just no longer work properly.
And as a buyer, I get maybe half of my purchase notifications.
Emails rely on your email provider. Usually when sellers contact Etsy, it is confirmed the emails were sent. So if you are not receiving order and shipping emails then likely it is your email provider. For one email providers constantly change rules. Some have difficulties with their servers. It is not unusual for free email to get lost.
I suggest checking with your email provider for any changes made.
@HandmadebyKathieK: Presuming that the eMail was sent, many bad things can happen after the eMail has left Etsy's eMail server. Your eMail provider or Internet Service Provider or even a relaying server could be blocking the eMail in error and it never even makes it to your eMail client much less your SPAM or junk folder.
Also, at least some of Etsy's eMail servers appear to be misconfigured - some inbound eMail servers attempt to validate the eMail and we have seen (and it has been confirmed by others) that some of their servers sometimes report (incorrectly) that the sender is not valid. If an inbound server receives this 'not a valid sender' response they will most probably discard the eMail without the recipient being aware of its existance.
Again presuming that the eMail was sent and depending on where in the process the eMail was blocked and who your eMail provider is, sometimes whitelisting the sending domain can help.
Thank you everyone for your help and kind words. I did whitelist Etsy with my email provider but don't know how long that takes. I aslo reset all of my email notifications just in case there is a glitch.
Is there anyway to actually get help from Etsy? Everything was working fine until last week and then no emails. I use emails in my process to complete orders - I guess I need a new process.
You can attempt to contact Etsy through the help center, but they'll probably point the finger at your email provider & not themselves. There are only so many settings you can adjust on your own within your email & Etsy.
