I am trying to edit the variations in a listing and when I pick "manage variations" I cannot add my own color variation. I get directed to add 14 generic colors that Etsy generates such as blue, yellow, green, red, orange. I want to add Patina, Metallic Bronze, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
@AnnScottHome: Have you looked at the 'I don’t see the type of variation I want to offer' section on https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015664047-How-to-Add-Variations-for-Your-Listings?segment... ?
The "create your own" is not an option for me for some reason.
I wan't able to do this in the new platform, I must go back to the old platform to do this, so crazy!
In August now. Not sure if anyone else has found a solution to this but I cannot get the variations to work on existing listings. I try to delete them doesn't work, I try to add a color and it doesn't work. I asked Etsy Support but they told me I was the only person with this issue and they refused to help me because it was only me, but I see here it hasn't only been me.
I do variations and have done variations in both the old and new style to create my own custom. I'll try to do it step by step for you
Add Listing > You have to add a category for the variations to show up so skipping to that
>Category then scroll up to + Add Variation
+ Create Your Own - You must name it. I called it for this test "Unique Colors" - scroll down to the input bar and put in your colors - then hit add, Add as many as you need of all the colors you need.
Click Done.
Next screen lets you choose if they all have the same info or varying info for Price, SKU and Quantity. Check the ones that you need and Click DONE
The next screen will let you put in the information needed for each item.
Hope that helps!
Same problem, "+ Create Your Own" option doesn't show up. https://postimg.cc/jnNk1SgM
