Hello folks I'm new here, just posted my first product some hours ago and long story short.
1/ I received an order, it showed on the dashboard along with the revenue, but not in the order section which was strange but thought ok maybe it's a normal delay.
2/ Checked my emails and I had an email (not from Etsy) url but prompting me to "confirm the order" , clicked anyway (not safe I know), then I saw orders details the interface was an exact replica of Etsy, but the fact that it was asking how I want to receive my money, triggered me so I stopped and closed the page.
3/ I received two messages by email from another Etsy shop (allegedly) telling me that my store was locked for verification and I need to click a link (which I did not)
4/ Now the order disappeared from my dashboard completely.
Honestly I don't know what to think of this, almost obvious that it was a scam attempt, but how scammers can in interract with Etsy dashboard? if someone placed an order then cancelled it, I should have received at least two emails from Etsy (order confirmation and cancellation) right?
Thanks all for your support !

Yes, it was a scam attempt.
''if someone placed an order then cancelled it...'' A buyer can place an order, but they cannot cancel it themselves. They have to ask the seller to cancel. In this case, it was Etsy (or the system they use) who cancelled the sale due to being identified as a scam.
eta - Be aware that this might not be the only scam message/order you may receive. Your listing shows that it's already in 3 carts, which is highly unlikely for something just posted a few hours ago.
Scam you don’t ever need to confirm an order.
Thanks!

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
I know I am paranoid but if you clicked on any links I might be calling my bank and credit card provider for advice as to whether to cancel ard.
But mainly I would run a malware program and change my passwords--use a different device is possible--if not, scan for malware first before changing.
