When I input the tracking number for a Royal Mail Tracked 48 parcel, etsy says the tracking is invalid.
I use a third party software to process my orders (Linnworks). When I fulfil an order Linnworks sends all the details to etsy to update the order as completed. It sends the dispatch date, the courier, postal service used and the tracking number, and this updates etsy.
Mostly we use Royal Mail and EVRI and for every service, other than Royal Mail Tracked 48, etsy updates the order and displays the order as tracked. But any order sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48 etsy says there is no tracking - even though it says the courier is Royal Mail and shows the tracking number.
HOWEVER if I then click to edit the tracking - make zero changes but click save - etsy updates the order to being tracked.
I've reached out to etsy multiple times but they just blame either the Linnworks software or say I'm not using a valid tracking courier or service. Going round in circles.
Wondering if anyone else has this problem - so if enough of us highlight the problem etsy will recognise the issue is at their end?!
Usually I wouldn't mind but I've now realised that if a parcel shows on the Royal Mail as delivered and the customer says they haven't received it you don't qualify for the etsy buyer protection because they claim you haven't given them a valid tracking number.
