Duplicate Orders

We seem to be having an issue where a customer submits an order and two more come through for the exact same item, but on separate orders The customer doesn't notice sometimes and always wants to cancel because they did not place the orders. At first I thought it was customer error, but it has now happened at least 4 times in two of our different shops. 

We also had a customer who purchased an order with three different items and every item then came through on a separate order individually and she says she didn't place the 4 orders, only the original.

Is this a known issue that is being worked on? It is starting to get so frustrating trying to refund orders and keep customers happy.

I had a similar situation a few dats ago, an order came in 3 times, paid. The customer only wanted 1 and I cancelled the other 2.

We are also seeing more duplicate orders. Sometimes I chalk it up to impatience and double clicking buy, but when a 25x repeat buyer has 5 items in her cart and we get an order for only 1 of them and then messages saying "I put in an order and it wants me to put in another. Did you get my order?" (which we did, but only 1 item). I don't know if the other items were still in her cart or if she somehow hit "buy now" and only ordered 1 of the 5 she wanted. Fortunately the buyer messaged me about it so we could address the problem immediately; she said she had this happen with another seller. Unfortunately most people think it's an issue with the seller's shop so they blame us for duplicate orders and Etsy collects yet another sale while we're left holding the bag with an angry buyer. 

I now cancel every single duplicate order; if it wasn't an error they can reorder. I see there are a few other threads in the technical issues so I'm copying and pasting this since they don't seem to be getting any interest and needs to be addressed.

The same happened to me today. One customer - 3 orders for the same item. I posted in Technical Issues before finding this thread

Thank both of you SO much for posting about this. There've probably been other posts that I missed but if I did, so could other people... and this is something we really need to be aware of! It could so easily turn into a disaster for the seller - and we don't want our customers going through this c*rap either.  You're doing us a service by bringing it to our attention. 

Now if Etsy will only buckle down and figure out why it's going on! Probably better not hold our breath on that one.....
