I'm in the UK, my sales are 50% UK & 50% USA so I use domestic and global pricing, because of the postage price difference.
49 of my 50 listings are fine, no issues. 1 listing (bestseller) keeps selling at the wrong price!!!! I've been using Domestic and Global pricing without issue till now since it was released.
For this item UK price £23.00 / USA Price £31.00. However I keep getting USA sales at £23 - what is going on?!?! I've checked the listing and saved and published changes multiple times UK price / USA price - everything's good and correct, save, in my listings page it shows both prices on the desktop, it all looks good. BUT .... when I or the other half opens a new browser where no ones logged in, look up said item, change the delivery to USA, put in a USA postcode ... and Etsy is charging the UK price of £23.00. Etsy is charging my USA customers the UK price?!?!
I've made a few sales at a loss because I didn't pick it up at first, and now I cant correct it. What's going on???
I am in the UK and wondering what the best way is to fix this until the bug is addressed (if it ever is). I have contacted Etsy multiple times but am no nearer a solution, and they do not give any advice. Also, it does not happen on all items.
I just did a test with an incognito window set as USA. The price was correct on the listing. I added it my cart and guess what? It changed to the domestic price!!!!
Now that the old listing page is gone, the only thing can do it when you made a listing and saved, so back to edit it and check the prices. The listing page will show both prices but the edit page will show them both the same and then its a case of edit them again and save and then check again to check its saved right.
Etsy don't seem to want to address the problem and they don't address the lose on income from the error also.
This is a MAJOR issue that Etsy are just failing to fix - i've had to cancel 12 orders, 2 i sent without realising & 3 I have made but have cancelled so i'm out of pocket on the product just sitting there personalised.
There is no 'old listing format' for me. I have contacted support 3 times and they're useless.
Hi there - I've had this issue multiple times as well - and I've lost money from it - as I set the overseas price to be higher to coverage postage. I've notified ETSY and honestly their response is really inadequate. I'm surprised as both sellers and ETSY are losing money from this issue.
I just stopped advertising "free" postage for the USA/Overseas buyers - and amended my shipping amounts for overseas. I don't make huge sales, but it doesn't seem to have affected my performance.
Good on you. That does seem to be the only solution after 14 months of the discrepancy, and counting.
Glad to hear your shop performance has not been affected.
Hello,
I am a vintage reseller on etsy and I had this problem with quite a few international sales since I usually adjust the pricing for the different countries due to shipping, customs & tax costs. After three support tickets & a lot of discussion I got a refund from etsy. since this bug is still not fixed, I already have new losses. So I will have to do this Bulls*** all over again. So just be persistent with the etsy support, it is not ok, if the sellers pay for etsy mistakes! Good luck everyone!
This is my workaround. I create and publish new listings with the same domestic and global price (both the global price). then from my dashboard I select the item by clicking the box. Then use editing options at the top of the dashboard listings and decrease the domestic price. This is fullproof if your prices include postage.
Oh, and as soon as you change the photos it get messed up again so you have to do the same trick of setting both as global price, publish, then decrease dometic as above.
