I've reported a listing with an explicit thumbnail as it had a detailed phallic design right there and to boot, it keeps getting recommended to me! I don't want to see that crap! Does reporting them even do anything? Heck, I reported a sticker of a sexually explicit sex act and it still appeared to me cuz I clicked on it to report it then the home page was like "You clicked on this? How about that I show you more porn?"
I know that explicit things are allowed but the ones listing said things are absolutely inconsiderate! Can we just have an explicit filter or the very least, staff that act upon these things?
This may help:
User account > Privacy > Clear recently viewed Listings
In future open a dodgy listing to report it by right click and use open in private / incognito browser window. That way it won't be linked to your account.

This doesn't work, it's in the "similar to favourites" section so it thinks I want to look at it cuz it's supposedly similar to what I have faved and I most certainly have NOT have faved porn!
Plus, you have to be logged in to report a listing. I tried it via incognito but it told me to log in.
Etsy needs a "not interested" option for listings. Plus, I keep seeing the same listings over and over that I don't care about.
Same thing happened to me last year. I reported something that was inappropriate that showed up in my search for something else, and then because I clicked on it to report it, I not only saw the first thing many times over, but others of that same type. Aggravating. I reported it because I did NOT want to see it as the thumbnail in a search, not because I wanted more of the same!
Yes, Etsy does remove explicit pornography EVENTUALLY.
You may need to report the whole shop and every item.
You may need to contact mods on the Forum or Etsy Help itself with links to the content.
They may never remove the content.
i reported a disgusting review photo.
recently.
the next day...
etsy emailed me!
i was surprised.
they apologized for it.
they told me they removed it.
and they thanked me for reporting it.
that has never happened before.
and ps.
clear your cookies from etsy.
it is the only way they will stop showing stuff to you.
using the clear recently removed items...
does not work.
In the past I found that 1) you need to clear everything. Browser history, internet cookies, Etsy recently viewed. All of it. 2) if you have anything with a questionable word on it in your shop, you need to remove those words. Example, I set up a shop (that has since been closed and consolidated into this one shop) that I was selling teddy bears in. The word teddy triggered lingerie galore all over my homepage. Removed every reference to “teddy” from titles, tags, and listing descriptions and no more ladies undies on the homepage. 3) I was once recommended a shop filled with pornographic photographs. I went into the shop, reported it. Then I cleared everything as mentioned above under 1 and it went away. I have no idea if the shop was closed and I don’t really care (I do; I hope they’re gone) as long as I don’t have to see it. 4) It could actually be that something you recently favorited has some word triggering it on it, which happened to a family member of mine on their account before. Unfavorite whatever you may’ve favorited right before it started showing up and see if that makes it go away. 5) I got so sick of running into things I didn’t want to see randomly popping up on the homepage I finally bookmarked my shop’s page for Etsy and that’s the only way I enter the site unless I’m using a device I don’t normally use and I have to look up Etsy.
I understand your frustration and I hope you can get it off your space. Hopefully some of these suggestions can be of some help to you.
