Greetings! I've noticed this discrepancy before, but this is the first time I'm taking a pause to question it.
I have a thank-you code set up to be automatically emailed to customers after their order ships. This code shows the number of times it was emailed is 0. However the number of times it was used is 1.
This must be a technical glitch... right? The number of times it was emailed must be incorrectly showing as 0?
Obviously not a critical issue but I've noticed this not adding up before too, and just wondering if it's a known glitch or if I'm misunderstanding the data somehow
interesting! so, a customer can receive a pop-up, which does not register as an email being sent.
that makes sense! thank you for taking the time ♥
Depending on your coupon code, someone could have either guessed the code, ie THANKYOU10, or used a service like Honey to find the code for them. So yes, it's possible that is was never sent, but someone stumbled on it and used it.
Geez, even my credit card providers scrape for coupons. It is getting ridiculous.
I've even received random emails from PayPal (or at least they're posing as PayPal)
The "you've purchased from or visited this website - look they're offering this 10% discount coupon" drive me nuts.
Okay, so no one listens to this, or believes it, but ETSY ITSELF IS PROVIDING THE COUPONS. I’ve said it so many times and people keep bringing up coupon scraping sites or browsers. You don’t need a scraping browser for Etsy! You just put an item in your cart, wait an hour or two, and if the seller has ANY active coupon code, it will appear in the cart. A pop-up (yes, a lovely little pop-up) appears saying “the seller sent you a discount of X” and when you go into your cart there’s a green bar above that shop with a box to check to use the discount. Since I seem to be the only seller regularly using their cart to store things and also reading the forums, I seem to be the only one who knows about it. It’s not a good guess, a coupon scraping site, or browser, IT IS ETSY! Etsy is directly applying your coupons to your buyers’ carts and they don’t have to buy from you once to get a thank you coupon.
Etsy might not have e-mailed it,
but you get a pop-up for it, which is not an e-mail
