Digital Download sales - “Not Downloaded”. Glitch?

Many of my sales show order history with files “not downloaded”…   I have a hard time believeing that many haven’t downloaded their items.

Is this just an Etsy querk?

I get this quite a bit with my knitting patterns. Usually the customer sends me a message that they haven't received the download link from Etsy and I end up sending them the pattern by email. Seems to happen more at weekends for some reason

The buyer just has not downloaded yet. Many buy and will download later. Unless the buyer contacts you, don't worry about it.

I second NanaLetha's comment.  Lots of my customers don't download their purchases until they're ready to use them, since they can always access them as long as they are signed into their Etsy account (under Your Account > Purchases).   For those customers who are confused by the process, I happily send the PDFs either via Etsy message or email, but only after they contact me first.  

For those who don't contact me, I don't proactively send anything.

It's normal to have some not downloaded but if it's the majority of them there could be something up with etsy.  Unless the buyer gets in touch and needs some help with the download, there's nothing you need to do.

Lots of people buy on their phone and don't want to download to their phone, so wait until they are on a computer and then sometimes forget until they need the item or if they don't have computer access don't want to download to phone (space concerns) until they want to use it.

I have lots of those. People buy our items with intention to get to it when they have time, and how many of us ever really have time haha.
