I shipped all my orders in April on time (early, actually) and with valid tracking numbers prior to their due dates. The badge states I didn't meet the 95% target, in fact the percentage is ZERO. My progress for June is correct and provides the expand arrow so I can drill down to the details. Last month does not provide this tracking method so I am unable to see what Etsy's back up is for penalizing me on this.
Since I am not supposed to drive, I had two packages in April that I gave to my mailman. Since then I've been driving them to the post office so I don't get penalized. Today, I just noticed I can schedule a pickup with the post office. I also have had a couple orders that I combined and they have the same tracking numbers.
Can Etsy look into this, as I don't believe the reporting for April shipping/tracking is calculated correctly.
Thanks,
Jan
It appears you have a long processing time frame? It appears that any orders received in April may not have met the deadline for the May SS.
Looking now I see that orders in May can have shipping in June.
The last two to three days of the month don't count for the next month. They count for the months after.
So when did you ship April's sales. IF the last week of the month they may have not made it before the cut off.
Are you buying Etsy labels?
Yes.
Then the tracking number should be automatically filling in. Go back and check if they are.
They are. That's the first thing I look for.
I also track every single order and when it's delivered, I reach out to my customer and make sure it arrived and they are happy with everything.
I am following Etsy's process to look into this, as I stated, I believe this metric is calculated incorrectly:
From Etsy: "Etsy Support can’t make changes to your Star Seller data or manually award Star Seller badges. If you think your Star Seller score was calculated incorrectly, you can let us know in the Technical Issues forum."
Unfortunately etsy is awful at updating the Help Center articles when they make a change. They changed this to a peer to peer support forum a few years ago so it's just us sellers here trying to help each other. Admin will occasionally pop in but usually just when there is a major issue happening. To get help from etsy you will need to contact etsy support directly and open a support ticket.
shop manager > community & help > contact us.
Look for "I still need help" as you are clicking through the options. Clicking "I still need help" will get you to the actual contact options vs FAQ pages that don't really help.
It is not the delivery of. It is the initial acceptance of the item. Look at the tracking. Are you getting the acceptance scan. No acceptance scan, Aftership concludes that the item was not shipped within the processing time frame.
IF your mailman picks up, the item should be scanned. If you take to the post office, get the receipt with the scan. Use the kiosk if your PO has one.
It is the acceptance scan by USPS that is important.
Please don't drive if you're not supposed to just for a badge.
I schedule a pick up through USPS, leave packages in my mailbox and ask the carrier in the notes to scan acceptance. If your packages are bigger than will fit, you can have them ring the doorbell to pick up directly from you --- and I ask again about a scan if it's not my regular carrier.
Thank you! I will do the same with the notes on the labels for my mail carrier. I've been taking them in to get them scanned, so I had that receipt as proof. This will work going forward. Just need to figure out why April is showing zero. And maybe it's because it was my first month back since I came off vaca mode. Just so long as it doesn't count against my shop. Would like Etsy to verify.
It honestly might not be worth your time to delve into it unless it's purely for your satisfaction. Etsy has said they won't modify anyone's star status for the previous month even if it was a mistake on their side. If that is time better spent on product creation, I'd just go for next month since it won't change the status.
I just use the same message and copy/paste into the notes field every time I schedule a pick up in case there's ever a relief driver.
@WitticismsRus yes, I figured as much, I appreciate everyone's suggestions. Unfortunately, my experience with Etsy's expanded help would not leave them with the same badges and metrics they are subjecting us to (no five star for their customer service, sadly). Just was hoping to hold them a little accountable for incorrectly reporting metrics that can impact a store's reputation and ultimately subjecting them to extended reserve status.--Thank you!

@moonbeamgifts No, I agree. This is about all the time I have to deal with this. Time to get to filling orders and creating new items. I appreciate everyone's time and comments about my shop. Cheers--Jan
Onward and upward! : )
But I'm serious about no driving if you're not supposed to! Don't make me get my shaking finger out!
And I just want to add that I just ate dinner so I should not be the least bit interested but I could dive right into those pies, cake and cheesecake. You had my sister fooled. She thought they were real items.
Your work is fabulous.
I've received inquiries on how I ship them, via dry ice, etc, lol! Thank you, I appreciate that. It's such a labor of love and I think I have some of the very best customers. And now, fellow sellers!! If you have anything you'd like to see me make, shoot me a message, I'm always looking for inspirations! And again, thank you, so much, I appreciate you.
@PrimFun yes, I use the initial scan and always get the receipt as back up. Yes, I have long processing, as each item is custom made/sculpted, but I don't think that's why. There were two that were mid-way through April, then end of April. After reading some more of their expansive fine print, they state that data might not be available the first month, at all, or immediately. So, there you go. I appreciate your time and delving into this with me!
@moonbeamgifts OK! No driving anymore, promise. Onward and Upward, lol!
