Have manually fixed it now 3X still pops up with enter valid postal code. Anyone else in this boat?
YES me too
Etsy HELP!
Everyone of my 18 Shipping Profiles Altered NO Postal Codes and this is the only ones I have used. Now to check all of the ones not being used. So nice of the Help Esty Does for Our Shops.?? NOT sure wish they would Butt OUT as not a HELP. !!
I got an answer on this one - you will have to manually fix all your delivery profiles with your postal code - it relates to a recent database update from Canada Post. As far as I know it is only CDN postal codes that were affected by the database upgrade. I updated the post codes about 20 mins ago and they are holding now so fingers crossed!
I can't get in to do them. Does that mean that I have to add them all again?
@PandPFyou have to do it manually so go to delivery settings and edit each one with your current postal code.
It's weird that I'm being prompted to add postal codes to shipping profiles in my shop that I have open in the chrome browser but not in my other shop that I have open in firefox.
Maybe it will be like the Littlest Hobo theme song... Maybe Tomorrow...
I have the opposite, problem in shop with Firefox Browser, no problem yet in shop in Chrome.
I updated everything and it WILL NOT SAVE!
This means I can't add any new listings. WTF Etsy?
Update:
I managed to finally edit the profiles and they saved, BUT.
You have to choose from a drop down menu that does not include Lettermail for international shipping.
And the shipping times are hideously inaccurate. It does NOT take 6 - 12 days for something to get to France. With Covid stupidity it can take as long as 4 weeks. So which do I choose - WAY too long (28 - 84 days) or WAY too short (6 - 12 days)? Too short everyone's angry, too long no one will purchase!
Grrrr... why "fix" what's not broken??
You can choose OTHER as your shipping service instead of Canada Post. Then you can put in your own custom shipping estimates....instead of having the ridiculously short ones from CP put on your listings.
You can't ship merchandise to international customers via Lettermail anyway.
All merchandise requires a CN22 form or equivalent to disclose contents & value.
Under the new system they have removed the "other" option.
@PlatypusDream That is CRAZY, because Etsy only has Canada Post, UPS and something called Stallion Express (I have never heard of this company) as choices on our shipping profiles.
What about Fedex and Purolator?
I have "Other" saved for one country on one of my profiles, it is still there in my other shop.
I took a look at one of this shop's shipping profiles, and Other is still offered as a choice, if I want to add a new country, also if I want to switch from CP. But I didnt save any changes, because I am waiting to see what exactly is going on with Shipping Profiles before I change anything.
@PlatypusDream I still have "other" on my existing profiles. I am not trying to list anything new, though.
Yes im getting same message. Was showing an incorrect postcode on all my listings. Had to change it back.
Same here! Trying to renew old listings, and can't. Rolling eyes! Will try another browser tomorrow, per Last Century's comment. I hope it is a glitch, and not Etsy micromanaging!
Gosh I tried to modify an active listing today and I couldn't because the platform is asking me to change some info on my shipping profiles.
I will wait until this all settles down.
I don't think it's the browser, I think it's a slow roll out. Have this in one shop, but not the other. I logged out and used a different browser, still seeing the same issues with the shipping profiles.
Me, as well
very frustrating
Again related to a database upgrade for shipping - should be all fine now though one seller said all her delivery profiles were lost - I merely had to re-enter my postal code all other data was still intact.
Having same problem. I FINALLY was able to send message to customer support. The info I got back put ALL of the fixing on me. Check this check that )<: Yesterday I got message that it was Etsys problem and that it was fixed. I checked a couple of listings and they were fixed, thought maybe I should check others and they are all messed up. Enough to make you VERY discouraged. I am waiting this out and in the meantime for new lists Other works on some. Thanks for listening folks!!
It's happening to me here in Australia too. Etsy have never required my postal code before. I wonder what they will do with it?
Mostly used to estimate shipping time from you to wherever your Buyer is
I see it too - I'm in Sweden. I'm wondering why they suddenly need that info? I'm getting ready to use a fulfilment service for US orders so my items will ship from multiple zip codes in the future. Yet another hurdle for shop owners...
