Default billing card issue

Every week or so I get a notification that Etsy cannot charge my billing card on file. Even though my sales always cover this. The problem is that I have to keep re entering my credit card. It will be fine for a few hours, then I’ll see the notification on my finance page that my card is not valid. This is a big problem when it interferes with my money being deposited into my checking account. If it happens on a day my money is to be sent, it will not send because it says I don’t have a valid card on file. I’ve contacted Etsy twice about this. I was told they’re aware of the issue. This has been going on for well over a year. It’s frustrating that this keeps occurring. Anyone else having this issue?

I've been emailing them about this issue since at least January. it's an "engineering issue".

No support at all. I've incorporated and now cannot add my business credit card to my account, so any refunds continue to get charged to my personal credit card which is extremely frustrating.

I'm trying to add a business mastercard, it still seems to work fine on my personal visa

I switched cards several times now and works for awhile but then the decline again.

Yes I have same issue and two shops and so over it cause it changes if you get sales or not.  They must downgrade your shop. Soon as I enter again and works for a few days the sales shoot up.  Message payment issue sales tank.   No response from them but they want me to rank their service. How bout it sucks!

YES and it’s driving me crazy!! Ive had thousands of dollars held until I could get the card added back on. I’m glad when you’ve contacted Etsy they say they are “aware” of the issue. I’ve contacted them several times and they never seem to understand what I’m talking about and provide different “fixes” that are not at all helpful.

Yes!  Oh my goodness this is good to know, that there seems to be an issue within Etsy.  I have a card on file, that is current with “auto billing” turned on.  Etsy has been billing my card for fees since late 2021.  Suddenly, in December my fees were not paid, & I got an overdue email on 12/7.  I checked all the settings, & everything looked good.  Two weeks later my account was suspended for non-payment, & I got the email.  I tried filing an appeal, etsy website said “this account is ineligible to file an appeal”, & when I tried clicking the link in the Etsy email, “billing@etsy.com” I got the “this is an unmonitored account” notification.  I paid it by simply hitting the “pay now” button within the email.  The account paymt was reflected immediately, & the suspension was lifted.  But, Etsy reps in Chat consider a “solved” issue.  NO ONE has been able to tell me WHY payment never billed.  I checked with my credit card company, all the info on file, & the charges history.  Etsy NEVER BILLED my card, & the question remains - WHY?!

Nothing has been solved. Etsy support is 0% helpful. They say its been escalated to their IT/Tech/whatever team to look at.

I ended up getting a digital Koho credit card, adding funds and linking that instead.
