The other day Etsy deactivated my bestselling listing for violating the creativity policy. But after reading the email very carefully, I’m absolutely positive my listing doesn’t violate the policy. I already reached out to Etsy and filed an appeal, but so far, I haven’t heard back.
I am an artist and I sell prints of my original paintings. The deactivated listing is simply that, for prints of my original painting. I own the official US copyright for the image, which I painted 5 years ago.
Unfortunately this particular image of mine is often stolen, and knock-off prints show up on Temu, AliExpress, etc. I try to get them taken down, but more pop up. I believe Etsy mistakenly thinks that I am selling something mass-produced in China… but it is in fact my art.
I’m a full time artist, most of my income comes from selling on Etsy, this is my bestselling listing and right now is currently my busy season when I make a lot of my income for the year. It’s harming my financial stability to have this listing deactivated, and it’s scary to me that I don’t know when this will be resolved, if at all.
I have over 13,000 sales and thousands of five star reviews, and after five years on Etsy this is making me consider transitioning to sell on a different platform.
Does anyone else have experience with this? How did it resolve for you? How long did it take for you to hear back about your appeal? Was your listing reactivated?
Thank you for any help or advice you can offer.

Truthfully I've had items taken down left and right. It's obnoxious within regards to not being able to even respond to the claims. Some, admittedly, have been valid, but others really haven't. My best advice is to have Etsy call you to resolve the issue. They were just able to help me with some other issues I've been having with shipping not tracking properly.
HIH!
Try submitting a copy of your copyright registration certificate.
I’ve reached out telling them I have the copyright, and I did provide the registration number. I have a copy of the documentation I can provide when they ask for it. But so far I haven’t heard back. I’m not sure where to send the document
