I had one of my items deactivated back in February. It was brought to my attention in March. I searched my email and did not find a reason why. I have submitted 2 support tickets over the last 3 months and have had no ETSY reply. Does anyone have any way of getting some customer service or a reply from ETSY?
Did it have the word "amber" in the listing, tags, title, or description? That is the most likely reason.
No it does not.
Or Ivory - even as a color descriptor and not a ... product? Ugh. I hated even typing that.
What was the item and did it have amber or did you use the word amber? Small amber beads are not allowed.
Not knowing what the item is, can't say more.
Did you get a reply from Etsy, then reply back that the issue is not solved and you would like information. Etsy probably closed the tickets if you did not respond to them. You should have received the usual email that says they have the request.
Send another one in via Contact us, 'I still need help'. IF you use chat or phone it may help or they may simply refer the issue.
It is a silver bangle that is blank. It is for my supply shop.
I have not received an email at all from ETSY. I checked spam and all my folders to make sure a filter was not created.
We are experiencing a similar issue - We have had our listings removed TWICE now for being prohibited items, though this is INCORRECT. There are many listings for this item that are not being deactivated. The plant we are selling is datura metel, not Datura stramonium (Jimson weed) as Etsy continues to indicate from both actions.
There are HUNDREDS of listings for the same item and for being listed for a long time, not recent. How are we being misidentified and delisted for selling the same item?
We have been trying to get in touch with Etsy on this but are only receiving automated emails that are no help and do not provide any information or steps to resolve this issue.
We've looked for a live chat or phone number to contact Etsy, but have not been able to locate any other way of contacting Etsy apart from the listed email address.
Any help or advice on how we can resolve this would be very much appreciated.
I wish ETSY would abide by the "Star seller" rule and reply with in 24 hours, heck this point 24 days would have been nice.
Are not all daturas toxic? That may be the issue.
@ElysianFieldsMagic - I did a simple google search of "datura metel" & this is what I found:
"All parts of the plant are toxic. Symptoms may include intense thirst, difficulty with speech and swallowing, vomiting and diarrhoea, fever, confusion, hallucinations, delirium, dilated pupils, seizures and coma. The perfume can cause respiratory irritation, headaches....."
Etsy will not allow that plant to be sold here.
@CLJjewelrysupply - You said you are selling silver bangles, blank so I assume you are selling as a supply, the shop owner would engrave for a buyer.
The problem may be that since they can be used/worn "as is" much like a t-shirt, Etsy will not allow them to even be sold as a supply item.
I have about 8 other listings that are very similar, just different colors and size. If you search 60mm bangles you will see dozens of listings for the wire bangles sold by supply shops.
Lol..oop..should have scrolled one lower first!
@CLJjewelrysupply They will not allow you to reactivate. We sold them for a while too when European beads were a big thing. They Etsy said no. Etsy does sweeps. It takes time, they took the first one off. I recommend you take the rest off. Reach out to customer service if you want, but they will likely say they are all illegal.
@JMOldeVintage Thank you for responding! We are not advocating use of the plant for anything other than aesthetic with the lovely flower it produces, and actively have disclaimers about any other uses. There are MANY types of datura and we are not selling the one prohibited - datura stramonium. There are hundreds of listings for the same plant. Why is this hitting us?
@CLJjewelrysupply I'm so sorry you are experiencing the same frustration. Thank you for posting this thread initially. I sincerely hope you find the information and help you need.
"toxic or poisonous items" are on the prohibited items list. Why you and not others? That is just on Etsy. Maybe someone reported yours. Just adding a disclaimer won't work.
Datura is a poisonous plant. Others probably have been removed and the ones you see may be gone tomorrow. You just got caught today. It is very detrimental to livestock, cattle and horses. Can be a hallucinogenic.
Dang edit. If you use the word Datura, in title and tags bots probably remove all the items with that name, whether it is poisonous or not.
In future, only open one ticket, and keep responding to the automated responses they send you on that same ticket. If you don't respond they will consider your issue is resolved by one of the items they include in their autoresponse - which means customer service success story! Wrong! More often - worn down out of exasperation.
My last issue was finally responded to by a real person after 3 weeks. This is after their promise to improve seller services.
good luck
They don't reply because they don't care! Same thing happened to me. I am looking to list somewhere else, getting really fed-up.
