PS: The message in question did not come from Etsy, and we have already actioned the account attempting to impersonate admin.
Describe the scam. Most people are not going to click that link.
This is disgusting; I'm sorry it happened to you. Did you receive this thru Etsy Messages? (you did say "I received a message...").
Yes, I received it on Etsy messages both on my PC and phone.
It is not a hack, it is a phishing scam
etsy has big pink warnings about it, right on messages, which you have to click off, and say you have read them,
if you don't click them off, they come up on every single message, every time.
It's a scam.
These scammers are NOT hacking into "your" account or other sellers accounts.
The scammers get you to send them "your" email so they can send you to a FAKE Etsy site to login and want you to enter in your bank/cc info and want to know what your "balance" is.
Even those sellers are not getting hacked since they are willingly giving their bank/cc #'s and login info to those scammers.
There's a gazillion posts about this since June.
