you get the monthly PDF statements for sales, fees, and VAT,
go to finances, monthly statements, go to a month that has finished, like Jan 24, you can click on - VAT reporting - VAT statement
it is a PDF, not a csv.
......
For last year - 2023, the EU implemented DAC7, where etsy has to give all information to EU governments, by the end of January this year 2024, it is the first time Etsy has had to provide this.
It has to do it for for sellers who sell more than 30 items or 2,000 euros in a year.... depending on the year the shop opened
you should have a pdf statement - if you are over the threshold, and you opened last year, give this link to etsy support and ask
extract....
In January of 2024, Etsy will be required to report information to EU tax authorities for EU sellers who joined the platform in 2023 who meet the reporting requirements. In future years Etsy will report transactions for all EU sellers who meet the threshold regardless of their onboarding date.
Bonjour
It depends how you are registered, I believe for micro entrepreneur, you have to declare the gross, not the net
@Spellbinderie can you help here?
@ValerieMafricaArt
the information is all in the downloadable csv's
your query is - do they have to give it to you in another format or not
Etsy thinks what they give you, is fine,
If the French authorities think what they give them is wrong, or missing, I am sure they will be chasing it., but that is nothing to do with you
It's not my query but that of 2 other French sellers who are in trouble with the French authorities because Etsy no longer provide a document that they should, by law, because, as usual, Etsy don't understand or care about non-US laws. So yes, it has everything to do with sellers.
"It has to do it for for sellers who sell more than 30 items or 2,000 euros in a year.... depending on the year the shop opened":
wrong. Once again, it's Etsy's misinterpretation of the law. I won't go into details, it would be too long, I'll just post a link. To put it in a nutshell, in France, there's no such thing as being "registered as an individual". When you open a shop on a marketplace or run your own website, you have to be registered as "a business entity" (you're given a SIRET and a TVA number), cf link in my post below. The French law PACTE (2019) is very clear about it yet Etsy chose to do otherwise yet they've been demanding our SIRET (only a professional seller can have one) since 2020 which is rather puzzling. The thresholds (the ones in the PACTE law that Etsy used to mention and the new DAC7 ones) apply only to "non-registered individuals" i.e. individuals who resell their own stuff occasionally.

I said micro entrepreneurs,
from your link, that says that Etsy must give the information to the French Tax Authorities,
and it does say it SUCCEEDS the previous legislation, it is not in addition to it.
It does not say it has to give the information to sellers, that bit was in the previous legislation, which has now been succeeded
Thus, in the case of France, the DPI-DAC7 system will succeed the Écollab declaration system, mentioned in article 242 bis of the general tax code (CGI). These new obligations apply to operations carried out from January 1, 2023 , which must be declared in 2024.
The information transmitted by platform operators to their tax administration is then subject to automatic exchanges between these same administrations no later than the last day of February of the year following that for which the operations were carried out.
It takes more than 2 min. to read and understand the law!
as did I
apparently Etsy and I read it the same way
If your government thinks etsy should be doing it differently, I am sure they will let them know
....
the EU directive does not put any responsibility on the platform, to give the information to the seller, just the member state, or a non-union jurisdiction, who will then report to a member state
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/FR/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32021L0514&from=FR
your link to the colaborative is talking about the 2019 legislation, which has been succeeded, the above is more up to date
What you don't understand is how law works. What you don't understand is the fact that members of the UE can add their own specifications to the UE laws. You posted a link but you didn't read the whole text. Here's what you missed:
a) informe chaque personne physique concernée que des informations le concernant seront recueillies et transférées conformément à la présente directive;
Anyway! I know you! LOL! I know you always want to be right and never cease to argue... But I'm not like you, I got better things to do (and I'm a law graduate btw). I wrote summaries and posted links for the French sellers who want or need to know what it's all about, it's a forum not a law class. Have a nice day!
PS: you're wrong as well about my links: all the sites are French government sites and they're all up-to-date.
I translated the above, it says
Notwithstanding paragraph 1, each Member State shall ensure that each reporting Financial Institution, or each reporting intermediary or Platform Operator, as the case may be, which falls within its jurisdiction:
(a) inform each natural person concerned that information concerning him or her will be collected and transferred in accordance with this Directive;
(b) transmit to each natural person concerned all information to which he or she may have access which comes from the controller within a sufficient period of time to enable him or her to exercise his or her data protection rights and, in any event, before information is not communicated.
Notwithstanding the first subparagraph, point b), each Member State establishes rules requiring reporting Platform Operators to inform reporting Sellers of the Reported Counterparty
It does not say anywhere, that they have to give the exact tax euro total information to the seller, just that they have to inform the seller they will be giving the tax info to the authorities, so they can exercise their privacy rights
The French bit that applies, I posted above, where France says Etsy only has to give the information to the authorities, and that it succeeds previous legislation. (which said it has to also give the info to the seller)
I just stated a coupe of facts here, you started to disagree with what I have written, so I am now providing the information that backs up what I have written
@spellbinderie
