These are my last two replies from two different customers which I messaged 3 days ago , “I'm so sorry. I didn't get notifcation of a message until today“. So in reality the only reason she received a notification today is because I sent her a second message which she received notification for.
second customer replied by
”Sorry just seeing these” No notification or email for 3 days.
The third, from today has not answered yet so I’ll see how she starts her message to me. This has happened before but I never reported it. Is anyone else having problems with messaging? Feels like a bug somewhere.
My last message was just read by a customer within the hour. So I'm not experiencing this. People don't always receive notifications from Etsy. Usually this is because they've turned them off. If this is the case they won't see the message until they physically log onto the site. Since we are in a holiday week I'd assume people are even less likely to be logging onto an online retail site.
I did have more than one customer write me to say that I did not answer their message which I never received.
just now trying to write this respond is taking me a few tries. Something is not right “correct the highlighted area” there is non.
if they get the email, and reply to the e-mail, you don't get it, and they don't get a non-delivery, they think they have replied, and they have, but it goes nowhere
If it's done through e-mail, they have to actually click on the "reply" button that etsy sets up, in the body of the e-mail,
It's a rubbish system
It's weird how when you try to get a hold of your customer ALL WEEK via personal email and etsy messages...NO RESPONSE. No response until you hit that order cancellation button. Weird how they get those and then come at you all crazy like "WHY DID YOU CANCEL MY ORDER!?!?" It's great.
I've had those.
Sent messages through Etsy. No response.
Sent messages directly to their email. No response.
Rinse repeat. No response.
Send cancellation, and suddenly "I didn't see the previous messages."
What is the likelihood of sending 4-6 messages using 2 different systems, and the only one that goes through is the cancellation?
Etsy's glitchy unreliable messaging system in three words... making commerce awkward.
Before I cancel, or move forward without my answer, I right-click on the person's name to get their email address. I then email a message saying I was unsuccessful contacting them through the system and repeating the question.
I haven't been consistently getting emails about orders or messages for weeks now. Didn't change my settings.
I've also had no response from customers using both etsy messages and email. After a few tries and days I just go ahead and do what I think is correct (which may or may not be). Canceling the order is my final way to get their attention and hopefully to get them to play along. If they don't respond then consequences are on them and not me.
