Hello everyone,
I've run into an issue and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar or has any advice. Two UK customers have contacted me, saying that my shop shows as not shipping to the UK (i'm in the UK), despite all my shipping profiles being set up for the UK. They've even sent screenshots. Etsy support's response has been that everything is fine on their end and advised the customers to reach out to them.
I'm concerned this might be affecting my sales, especially if other potential customers are facing the same problem but not reaching out. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have any suggestions on how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!
Simon
Tell the buyers to use a browser and not the app.
Have you changed your shipping settings to exclude the EU and NI?
When I did this it seemed to cause a glitch for some customers. Seemingly if they have at any point changed the shipping address for any orders on Etsy, the postcode shown when they go to order may not be the one that Etsy is ‘seeing’.
If they delete/change the shown postcode to anything else such as Buckingham Palace (SW1 1AA) and then change it back to the correct one this somehow helps Etsy recognise the original postcode again. They may need to test add the item to the basket with the incorrect postcode before deleting, I can’t quite remember the details of the workaround.
Etsy seems to blanket block Ireland North & South With the new GPSR despite Northern Ireland is part of the UK , Southern Ireland is part of Europe. So if you opt in the GPSR you may run in to problems with UK buyers in NI.
The reason Etsy has included NI in the GPSR block is because GPSR applies to NI. That is deliberate and does not affect sales to GB.
I'm in the UK and see your items as available to purchase and can add to basket with no problems.
Northern Ireland is part of the UK, but it is required to follow GPSR. So no one can sell to them unless they follow GPSR and have an EU representative.
Was it charms they were trying to buy? Just wondering if it was the gun or scissors charms as they are possibly triggering the ‘not for sale in the UK’ thing? Just a thought.
Yes this evening I have had two messages saying why don't I ship to the UK when I am in the UK and I also had two yesterday from regular customers saying the same thing! My sales have plummeted overnight and I am wonder now if this is why
Hmm might be a bug. Ask your customers to check their region settings (bottom left of any search page) and delivery address (as @MyOrganisedHome suggested). Maybe they need to remove any addresses which are not in the UK from their profile. Also ask them if they have moved countries since opening an account - perhaps there is a hidden location setting which was set when they initially opened their buyer account.
I have this problem now too? Never had an issue before nothing has been changed? Did you get a resolution
@Littletreasure16 This is an old post. It would be better to create your own thread.
There really isn't an issue. It could be the buyer's settings are wrong. They are trying to use an old version of the app.
BTW you are in theUK and must have UK shop policies. That includes 30 day return. GDPR and Right of withdrawal. THis is something that can trip sellers up these days not having correct shop policies.
