A customer just messaged that he can't put items in his cart. This is a repeat customer, so it is not a matter of him being confused. The website is just not working. I messaged Etsy Chat, but they say his needs to contact them himself. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I just tried and can add your items to basket. Maybe politely ask your buyer to try a different browser - there may be a temporary hiccup at his end.
Thank you so much! I'll give him this info! I really appreciate you testing it out for me!!
I can add your items to my cart too & it looks like I could check out alright.
There's other reasons why anyone can't add to a cart, such as there being 99 items already in it. Or if there is a problem with his Etsy account. Sometimes clicking into a listing from a product that was saved a while ago does give an error, which doesn't happen if the buyer goes to the shop and locates the listing and clicks it from there (what a pain).
He could try another browser as suggested above, or try to purchase while not logged in, or clear the cache in his computer, or try removing some of the items already saved in his cart by putting them into "save for later". Or try again tomorrow which is often the best way for a repeat buyer who might be more understanding or more highly motivated to wade through it all than a new buyer.
Thanks so much for checking on this. These steps are GREAT advice. I will pass them on to my customer. I really appreciate your help!
There's other posts on this with the same problem. As of right now it doesn't appear to be a site wide issue. Buyers will have to contact chat support.
I had a repeat customer contact me to say they couldn't add an item to their basket. Everything seems ok at my end.
Had 4-5 customers reach out over the last few days with the exact same issue. Haven't found a fix. Hope Etsy looks into this because it seems like a problem on their end...
I have a customer that can’t add my item to her cart too. Keeps getting a error message. Other orders have come through today so it can’t be site wide.
it’s hard helping them when support for us is so slow
I had a similar problem with several of my listings with a repeat customer. I sell items in multiples, and when I looked at the public listing the customer was trying to purchase, only one was showing as available. In Shop Manager, several were showing as available. I wondered, why weren't all 3 showing in my public shop? No explanation. What I did though, was delete the number showing as available in Shop Manager and re-entered the number available and re-saved it. Boom, it fixed the problem with my customer not being able to add it to her cart. So, try doing that, with however many are available for your item. Good luck!
Today a customer cannot add digital download patterns to their cart. Goes to error page, this item not available. But the listings are active and available in my shop. The customer has sent an email to Etsy help, so maybe they will figure it out.
Other buyers have made purchases today without problems.
I started a shop a couple weeks ago. I haven't had a sale. I tried to make a test purchase on my shop and I had the same issue. Couldn't add to cart
You can't add items to your own cart as you cannot purchase from yourself. You cannot even purchase using a different shop that you run as they are tied together by your IP address.
Not having a sale within 2 weeks is normal for a new shop. I was on here 6 weeks before 1st sale and only had 3 sales in my first 6 months. You have to have patience and if you use social media they say to drive people to your shop. I don't because I find it intrusive.
ETA: I looked at your shop and if these are POD it may take much longer than 2 weeks--there are over 10 MILLION t shirts listed on Etsy. You are in a niche with too much competition
Thank you for your response. I suppose it makes sense that you can't buy from yourself. Do you mind seeing if you can add an item to the cart? (If it's not too much to ask) I've signed up to ESTY advertising and Facebook ads. I've seen a little traffic, but not a sale. I was just trying to troubleshoot.
Thanks again
BE CAREFUL about trying to manipulate your own shop. It can be viewed as SHILLING and can get your shop shut down.
Dear lord, fix this ETSY!!!!!!!
I just had a customer contact me with the same issue! Come on Etsy fix this.
