Custom order

Hello, I'm having a problem with a private custom order. My customer and I have made arrangements for the design via message and now I need to send her a private custom order to pay the deposit.  I used the order form link at the bottom of the message bar, filled it in appropriately and sent. It says sent on our message feed but she can't open it and pay. This is the first time I have made a sale this way. Am I doing something wrong?  Can anyone help?

Re: Custom order

Ugh, this new system does not work at all.

Best work around - find the listing in the Listings page in your shop manager, copy the URL for it from opening it there, then paste the URL of the actual listing into your message thread.

This is the only way I've fou d to do it so that the buyer can access it.

Re: Custom order

Oh that's not good to hear.  I really dont want to miss this sale. There isnt a listing in my shop I can copy and paste, unless I make one and then delete it perhaps. It's for a custom made piece of furniture. She has looked at my other designs and asked me to make one to her specification.

Thanks for you help. I will try contacting the support group. They just take so long to get back to you

You should be able to click on Make this a Custom Order in the message your buyer sent you.  You fill in the details there.  Make sure you put in capitals DEPOSIT so that it is not implied the order is paid for and in the description put in what is left to pay.  Then click submit and it will be sent to your buyer to purchase.  She will find it in her conversations.  If she can't access it, then go to your listings page and you will see it there.  Open the listing from your storefront (select View on Etsy) then copy the URL in the bar at the top of the page and paste that in a message to your buyer who will be able to purchase from it.  Actually for custom work you should always get full payment before starting work as buyers do sometimes have a habit of disappearing.
