For at least 6 months, often times when a buyer purchases a made to order digital product from my shop, the order seems to be automatically completed, allowing buyers to leave a review from the moment they purchase with no product in hand, and because the orders are complete I am no longer able to attach their files to the order. These are listings specifically marked as made-to-order, with no files attached to the listing itself for download and instead to be added by me when I complete the order.
I reached out to support sometime at the end of last year about this, and was told Etsy support was aware of the issue, but I have heard absolutely nothing about it sense, and the issue obviously persists. I am forced to often deliver files by email or dropbox file, and added a disclaimer to my shop's announcement regarding the bug on Etsy's end, as well as having to check my "completed" orders much more frequently, and personally reach out to buyers to let them know I am working on their order and will deliver it through one of the aforementioned methods.
Has anyone else found a workaround for this? It doesn't seem to consistently happen to any particular listing, which doesn't give me much hope I can do anything but wait for Etsy to possible fix the issue.
