I have a whole group of "made to order" listings which are going straight to completed orders. What is up with this? They are not instant downloads, they are "made to order" which require a proof. I have almost missed several orders because they were sent straight to completed orders. I believe this has all happened with the new form. It is ALL messed up!! This is no way to keep track of a business. Any other digital sellers having this problem?
Lots of your listings are showing as instant downloads which means you uploaded a file. You should not do that for made to order.
I do have lots of instant downloads, but the particular ones I am referring to are made to order - my easel signs and milestones signs. Not one of these are instant downloads, even though (some) are now showing as such. The new form is completely wonky. Every single one of these items are going to completed orders - even the ones that show as made to order. (But again, every single item in this category is made to order, and there are no download attachments to any of those listings.)
In a nutshell, I have not uploaded any attachments whatsoever to any easel sign or milestone sign.
I counted at least 7 or 8 listings that show as "instant downloads" on the listing page (which the customer sees), even though when I go into the edit mode, they show as made to order. I have no idea what is going on.
@PartiesbytheBundle - Your listing for the Blue Teddy Bear Baby Shower Welcome Sign indicates it is a made-to-order digital download.
Your listing for the Teddy Bear First Birthday Milestones Sign is shown as an instant download.
I think there have been a few other threads on the issue earlier this month. I honestly don't know what to tell you other than to contact Etsy and then have patience.
If you did use the new listing form to edit any of the listings or price, well, tbh I wouldn't be surprised if it's linked to the problem.
Thank you! I have never opted to use the new listing form, until Etsy automatically rolled them over. I did try to edit some personalization boxes this week (which allowed one edit only), but I don't know where this problem originated. The edit portion of each of these listings is correct (Made to order) and there are no uploads to any of the listings, so I am at a loss as to why some are showing as instant downloads. I will take your advice and try to get some Etsy help + patience. Thank you again!
In "Core details" you should choose "Physical item" because "Digital files" are diretcly downloadable files, and "Who made it?" choose "I did"
If I choose Physical Item, will this allow me to download a digital pdf to complete my order?
Thanks for your post. I have been dealing with this for about a month and was told it is an engineering issue.
Thank you.
Yes it's a glitch that's been ongoing since the new listing format arrived.
Made to order listings are reverting to Instant download with no file when bought.
They will show as made to order on your edit end, but instant download on the shop end.
The only way to temp fix is to edit it to physical and save, and edit back to digital made to order.
Wow!! Makes my head spin. I'm afraid to look at all of my other made to order items, for fear there's a bigger mess than I even realize. How crazy is that. Hopefully a glitch which will be fixed soon? Thanks for the tip!
I created my first made to order this morning, and it was a DISASTER. Fortunately, my customer was very sweet and patient while I bungled through Etsy's incorrect instructions. I had to cancel the order, and we ended up working it out another way. I have also disabled the "Request Custom Order" button! I don't want to go through THAT again. 🤪
I have a Halloween product that I was fixing to load that has personalization, which I am trying for the first time. Now I am worried about that working. Is this affecting personalization orders as well?
@KMRcreatesDigital: You can still keep "Request Custom Order" enabled just don't use the custom order function, instead create a regular listing that you title 'Reserved For xyz'.
I am having the same problem and this has been happening for about a month. My orders require a digital pdf and as soon as my customer places the order, it immediately shows "Completed." As a result, there is no way for me to download their pdf so they can access it from their order page. And they also have no way to leave a review.
I reported it and received a message saying they thought this was an "engineering issue" and I hoped it was fixed. But on Sat July 6 one of my clients made another purchase and it went immediately to completed again.
If anyone out there has received any updates please send me a message. My shop is FavoriteHaunts.
THANK YOU!
