Let me explain and see if anyone else is having this issue, we use to be able to send a message to Customers after we sent them a credit refund, I always do if people purchase from me and she shipping does not come out correct.
A window use to pop up and i could send a message to them.... NOW it just goes in circles.... meaning no window pops up.
I have to go all the way back out to the order and send a message to them.
Anyone else see this issue when sending a refund...
The buyer can see it on their purchase plus they get an email.
Yes that's correct...
This has been going on for me since Sept. 8. I will issue a Partial Shipping Refund for overages above $1.00. When I input the amount on the Refund, then select "Preview Refund", the page will hang up (white page), as if the Refund didn't take. I hit F5 (Refresh page), and it shows the Refund Page, and that the Refund did take place. Also, when you go to print the Invoice (I print 2 copies, one for my Customer and one for myself), you will see the Refund. It will also show in your Payment Account.
I don't know why this issue has been going on for over a month, with no address from Etsy.
Hope this helps.
Yes, big help. i have that same problem. Just started for me about a month ago too.... i know the credit goes through but just strange how we have to do a ton more steps to confirm it...
Yes, be careful doing a refund, someone else had it hang up and they sent the refund 3 times and it was a couple of hundred dollars. I did a postage refund yesterday and the same thing, hang up with circle turning, I hit back button and saw that the refund had gone through.
@1jewelryjunky I did the message thing at the top of the page before I did the refund, so hopefully my customer got it.
This happened to me at least a year ago, and I ended up refunding twice. I can't remember the details now, but I think I had offered a 10% discount after purchase (I don't use discount codes). It was a significant amount and I contacted support and said that it was an error on the refund process; their answer, contact the buyer and 'make' them repay me (I remember that word very well). I wrote a highly apologetic message to the buyer and sent a paypal invoice. I explained they were under no obligation to refund as it was a system error. That wonderful buyer not only paid back the over-refund, but left me five stars when their order arrived.
yes, happening to me as well...
