Coupon

I just got an order in my shop and the purchaser used an Etsy coupon for -$3.03.

I have not issued any coupons nor do I plan on giving coupons from my shop nor for my products.

Where did they get this coupon and why has Etsy applied it to my shop???

Because of Esty, I have to lose money because of this "COUPON" they allowed this customer to use in my shop!!!!!!

I will have to make up the postage of $1.28 because of this allowance on Esty's part.

Why has this happened without my consent????

Re: Coupon

You didn't sign up for any coupons?  Did you check?

If it was an Etsy coupon, was it the $5 one going on this weekend?

Re: Coupon

OP, Etsy is giving some buyers $5 off purchases of $25 or higher from its own piggy bank. You will get the full amount you normally would receive from a sale. It's a marketing tool to help Etsy and buyers in the USA, Canada, and U.K.

I thought the same but why would it be 3.03? Weird amount no matter what!

Re: Coupon

Their order was for $20.00. It was NOT a $25 order?

Re: Coupon

OP, go to your section where sales and coupons are shown. Do you by chance have an older coupon open for buyers?

Re: Coupon

@ErinsArtOriginals I just added your $20 rei deer ornament to cart.  There's not even a box showing to add a shop coupon.

Sometimes Buyers get coupons from Etsy, for various reasons.  You should not be down any money because of it, though.

Re: Coupon

Maybe your customer ordered from multiple shops and used the $5.00 coupon. I guess Etsy divided up the coupon.

Re: Coupon

Yes, that’s exactly what happened. @SmudgePlant is correct.

@ErinsArtOriginals  If the order from your shop was $20, they must’ve spent $5 + somewhere else to get the amount up to $25 and $3.03 was the amount of coupon they got from your shop.

Makes sense, but Etsy could explain it better.

Re: Coupon

@ErinsArtOriginals: An Etsy coupon always comes out of Etsy's pocket not yours. The actual order should show you what coupon code was used.
