Costumers, how to get them?

So just wondering if there are any tips for a brand new Etsy store owner on how to get looks and sales?

@Drwhocollectables   The correct word is actually "customers".  I only looked at the Elton John listing.  Your description just says "need I say more?"  The answer is, yes, you need to say more.  You say nothing about what the condition of the album is.  Most would never purchase without much more information.  Taking a little bit of time with your listings might help your sales.

Re: Costumers, how to get them?

Obviously, this is not a technical issue, but I will provide some advice....

Well, the first route is optimizing your shop so it is in good standing and not downgraded in search. You are missing a shop title (which should have keywords in it), shop sections, and an About section.

After that, it's about understanding seo on etsy. In looking at your listings, I would suggest fleshing out your titles first. I looked at "Phil Collins - Face Value". Although you show a photo, you need to say whether it is an album, a tape, or a CD. Including the date in the title would help too.

Then, you are not using any tags on that listing (!). You have 13 opportunities to bring in a buyer and you filled out none. They need to be phrases (no single words).

Then, the description is too sparse. Give more details! Let's say I was searching for that album that had "In the Air Tonight" on it? I'd never find your listing unless I knew which album it was on. See where I'm going with this? Collectors also want to know more than "Record is in great shape". A collector will want to know the condition of the sleeve, whether there are any markings or tears or whatever.

Lastly, if you have a business social media account, you can rely on that to bring in your own buyers.

In addition to the move, the very least you could do is have your photos the right way up.  You have to give buyers reasons why they'd want to buy from you and a shop that looks like it was thrown together without much thought is not going to inspire confidence.

Re: Costumers, how to get them?

Costumers are easy to get, check the yellow pages.

Customers are a different story & you'll need to make an effort.

Your shopfront is incomplete. Not knowing anything about you and your business is not going to inspire buyer confidence.

ADD:
- shop title under your shop name saying exactly the type of merchandise you sell
- an About section with pics or video
- a shop announcement
- shop policies that are EU / UK compliant
