Just posting in case anyone else might run into this. I went into my listings this afternoon and had a red banner at the top stating that two listings had been deactivated because of notice of copywrite infringement. I immediately went into my inactive listings to figure out which, and there was nothing there. I then checked my email, as I would be expecting an email with Etsy with more information. Again nothing there. When I went back to listings, the message was gone. I'm assuming it was a momentary glitch, but in case anyone else experiences it, you aren't imagining it

"The Godfather Inspired", firefighters / police badges - make sure you don't use any trademarked names, logos and so on.
Nothing has been deactivated by Etsy. The message showed up on Etsy's listing page, but disappeared within a minute. Just providing a heads up in case anyone else gets this ghost warning.
If it said copywrite then it was spam. It’s copyright!
That's my typo. It was on Etsy's listing screen (not email). Again, was there and disappeared within a minute.
As @Natalya1905 said, you do have IP infringements in your shop. Don't wait for Etsy to send a "real" deactivation notice. Those strikes will count against you and will likely lower your visibility in the search for an unknown period of time. Penn State and Ohio State names and logos are trademarked. You might consider deactivating them yourself before the schools or Etsy do it for you.
Ohio state University, God father, New York Firefighters... It could be possible that it was not an accident or a ghost warning that you got an announcement like that unless you have a license from them to sell products with their names or images
You should highly consider looking at University's policies for using their images and names if you do not have a license as you now might be on the radar.
While I appreciate the concern, I've been operating on Etsy since 2018 and very aware of how the process works. The glasses you mention don't actually have Penn State or Ohio State trademarked items on the product itself. It is a map containing the location of the university (which isn't trademarked) and has the proper city name on the glass. I've even had Virginia Tech University buy some of my glasses as presents for their deans. I wasn't soliciting advice on my listings, just trying to make people aware of a random glitch this afternoon.

The words "Ohio State University" are indeed trademarked for glassware. You might look at the current USPTO trademark database. I've been here since 2009 and Etsy is a very different world than it used to be.

Pas d'inquiétude, c'est déjà arrivé à plusieurs personnes qui en ont parlé sur le forum
Moi aussi j'ai eu cette bannière rouge qui a disparu aussitôt
C'est un bug et je vous comprends car ça fait très peur
Soyez tranquille
Same identical thing happened to me today. None were deactivated and there was no email. I just have no idea knowing which two they were referring to.
That has happened to me before--I think it's an old notice that glitches and for some reason pops up again
I hope so. I did have two inadvertent infractions several years ago and have since tried to be very careful. Thank you!
This has been a glitch for a while now, the red banner, no email or deactivated listings.. refresh your page and it disappears
I hope these mistakes don't leave behind any dings
I have the same issue from an old infringement due to a common first name from the Cartoon Network and the cartoon network sent me an apology when they realized my initial jewelry listing has nothing to do with a cartoon character!!!. After 8 years I received it from the Cartoon Network the red banner, no email or deactivated listings but when I refresh it disappears. It happened 2 times this week even though it's a glitch I hope it doesn't have any consequences on my visibility.
I so appreciate this message - I think I just experienced the same thing. I had an infringement when I started several years ago and just didn't realize the rules back then. I've since tried so hard to make sure everything was safe but got that notice about the old item which I did still have in my inactive file - but never reposted -- I've since fully deleted it. I went back to look at the Etsy notice and it's gone -- also did not receive an email from Etsy. I hope I'm experiencing a glitch as you all. If you've had any further updates on this - it would be great to know!
