Copyright/trademark issues?

I am very confused and I don't understand why I received a copyright issue on one of my listings. I am a fandom creator and almost all of my works are inspired by the anime; My Hero Academia. This is incredibly common with etsy sellers. I've even bought from other shops selling similar merchandise. However, one, and only one of my listings was removed. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

The owner/creator of the copyrighted item can report items they didn't authorize (or get paid license for) at any time. If a shop gets reported too many times etsy will close it.

Fan Art is for personal use. You can not make money off of characters that you are not licensed to sell. Yes, there are many items on Etsy that violate policy, but that does not make it legal. They just have not been caught yet.

You need to be very careful with fandom art. Anything recognizable that is trademarked can get shops in a lot of trouble.

I am a fandom creator

yes you can create fan art.. but you cannot sell it.

you do not own the art... the characters... the names...

it is infringing and against the law.

you should remove all of your fan art before etsy closes your shop.

ask yourself how you would feel if sellers stole your artwork or music lyrics or anything else that belonged to you and only to you.

it is stealing and the creators of those anime characters receive nothing from you.

there is no benefit at all to them.

you need permission and a license to sell them.

This is incredibly common with etsy sellers.

yes it is... and they are infringing too.

Fan art is only allowed for personal use.  You can make it for your own enjoyment or to give to someone as a gift, but the moment you put a price on it and offer it for sale, it ceases to be fan art and becomes a commercial product.  You need a license from the TM holder to sell it, even if it is your own hand drawn version of the character or item from the franchise.

Read this.  It should help to clarify some things for you.
