Dear Etsy, This is not a mean spirited message, but it is a request. I understand when you were endeavoring to get the new gift search up and running, there was a glitch that affected many of us. Yes, I am a casualty and it was verified by your support team. My business completely shut off overnight back in January and it has not recovered. I was doing very well and yes, I market on and off Etsy and continually work on my shop. So, how are we to recover from all of the lost sales and get ourselves back up to where we were in the search? It is still very messed up and a lot of us rely on our shops for the income. It's wonderful that you are constantly anticipating customer's needs and trying to make it easier for them to shop, but would it make sense to take care of those of us who actually make the items your customer base purchases? Without us, you don't make money. So, this is with total respect that I ask you to PLEASE fix the issue and communicate with us. Thank you!
Your message is very vague. What issue are you having specifically?
Also note that Support staff rarely visit the forums. It's just us sellers and the moderators.
I have spoken to the Support staff about the search glitch. A number of shops dropped off the search platform during a recent test. Etsy is aware and many shops have been affected. I don’t think my post was vague at all. Apparently you were one of the lucky shops that they didn’t test on. It is a huge issue and there are many posts about it throughout the forums. They were kind and offered me several apologies, as they are aware that it hurt many of us.
@TaracudaJewelry that test was Sunday & Monday of this week, not back in January.
Which items of yours are still deindexed? We can check for you.
They have 504 products and searching the word jewelry in their shop yielded 504 results.
is it possible to check an entire shop for indexing at once as opposed to each listing?
@heavyistheheart if their items fit under one category, yes, as @VibeEnvy did.
Etsy has been helping me sort this out and did re-index my listings. That said, after my shop listings were re-indexed, I waited a day, then tried search again using an exact search phrase from several of my listings. The only things coming up were items that either didn't contain the words I had actually searched for, or were unrelated - hence, my post. The testing I am referring to was not the testing from this week. As mentioned in my original post, all of the glitches began during January as the new gifting search program was being set up. I appreciate all of the input, everyone. Hopefully things will resolve. I wish all of you great sales!
