There seems to be some kind of connection issue between UPS and Etsy. All of my orders that were completed and shipped March 28-April 2 via Etsy shipping lables and shipped by UPS are still showing in transit even though UPS tracking shows all have been delivered. I was told in etsy chat that I would need to reach out to all my customers for a msg conformation that they received their order. Sorry but Im not sure why this becomes my issue when apparently its a technical issue with Etsy.
No need to reach out to your buyers. If there is a problem, they will contact you. It's usually wise to pay no attention to Etsy Support.
Perhaps chat's recommendation for reaching out to customers is for Star Seller status? I think some sellers have used message confirmations from buyers to get Etsy to mark an item as delivered which helps with SS?
@CanningCrafts Delivery is not the issue for SS. It is an issue in case the item has not arrived for perhaps a refund by Etys.
For star seller the important part is having the item in transit by the time the processing time frame is complete. In other words the shipper has to have accepted the item.
@ArtDollsbyJD I have had several items not move past "Pre-Transit" on Etsy, even though external tracking showed delivered. They were dinged on my Star Seller status, even though they shipped ahead of time & were delivered on time. So it does seem to make a difference for SS in some cases. Other sellers have been able to use screenshots of external tracking as evidence & have Etsy mark items as delivered.
Pre-delivery will ding you for Star Seller shipping. Pre-delivery can mean that a label was printed but the item was never mailed ... or that label was printed, item was mailed but not scanned.
Once an item is 'in transit', Star Seller metrics are happy.
@GlassyFields This has happened to me twice now on Etsy. The external tracking showed movement & delivery, but there was a disconnect on Etsy where it didn't register at all. I could also see tracking updates on PirateShip. Kinda sounds like what is going on with the OP's UPS shipment.
I use (and love) Pirateship. If the information isn't synching automatically, enter the tracking # manually in the order.
There was a notice from Pirateship a few months ago stating that new Etsy accounts wouldn't be able to get the integration between Pirateship and Etsy. I wonder if there is more to this? But you should be able to manually enter a tracking number on your order just like if you got a paper receipt from the post office and entered that.
@GlassyFields Yes, my PirateShip integration automatically added the tracking # on Etsy. But the tracking just never updated past being "In Transit" due to some sort of glitch. Hopefully the PS will keep working with Etsy for older connections.
I started a thread last week about the same issue. I have reached out to Etsy chat and they said there is no issue. They asked for my bank account information to verify my orders. I did not feel comfortable giving my bank account information to them over the chat. I sent a message via my signed in Etsy account. I provided the order numbers for them to check the tracking on their end. They said there was nothing they could do without my bank account information. I currently have 14 orders that have been delivered but show In Transit with no information. Yes, it started on March 28th and it is still going on!
I am checking the UPS tracking directly from UPS since it is not showing up in Etsy. I have had several customers send me notes as the tracking only shows "dropped off". I know this is happening to others but not sure if the "chat" people understand what is going on. It happens only on Etsy whether you use their labels or Pirateship.
You are not alone in this one! Hopefully it resolves soon! Happy Tuesday!
@SouthernJamsandJelly It is normal for them to ask for the last 4 digits of the account number. First they can't do anything with the last four digits of the account number. But they can confirm that you are the owner of the shop with the question.
UPS sounds like they are not giving information to Etsy. That is on their end not Etsy.
Yes, same thing here...all our shipments from March 28th to April 3rd are still showing "in transit", even though when you go to the UPS website (using the link on Etsy's side), they are all showing delivered (with proof of delivery photos). We do use Pirateship for all our shipping, so not sure if that is something common with y'all too, but no idea why it's not updating on Etsy's end...we've never had issues with this before (but that doesn't mean anything considering it's Etsy lol). Also, doesn't make sense that it's a UPS issue since their website tracking is updating correctly, but who knows. Literally all of them that say "in transit" show the "arrived at facility" scan as the last scan. Very weird, but definitely not going to hassle with Etsy "support" with this
Also, in case anyone was worried about reviews, an order still showing "in transit" doesn't hinder a customer from leaving a review as we have had several customers leave reviews that are still showing "in transit" on Etsy (but were delivered).
All of mine were Etsy labels. Maybe that need to follow up with UPS since apparently no UPS labels are getting marked as delivered.
UPDATE: Randomly a few of my orders that shipped the end of March are finally showing Delivered.
However, new ones shipped this week are showing Pre-Transit! Hopefully, things will improve and they can fix the issue. Not sure how many are having this issue but has to be more than just a few of us! Happy Thursday!
