I am having issues verifying my custom Hover website to Pinterest & Google. Was anyone here successful at doing doing it? If so, please share steps/tips.
Thank you
Mya (New on Etsy)
Your domain is strictly for your shop? Or do you have a website? On Pinterest the Etsy shop is only a page. You put the domain name in the business account and it didn't verify? Most likely because you only have a page on Etsy and not a website. Maybe the same for Google?
"A custom web address, or domain, can make it easier for customers to find your shop online and build your brand (e.g., www.yourshopname.com).The web address redirects to your Etsy shop. You can use your custom Hover domain on business cards, signs at events, or anywhere else you'd like to display it." Etsy Plus: Access to Custom Web Address Discounts through Hover – Etsy Help
I believe the domain name is only for redirecting to your shop therefore you don't really have a website. I think that may be why it doesn't work. It's been so long since I had a domain name that I forget the particulars
If I am wrong I'm sure someone will come along with better info.
@MyasArtsAndCrafts: In general, platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, etc require you to prove ownership of the domain. Since it sounds like the Hover domains are no more than 301 Redirects to your Etsy shop, you probably cannot do the steps required to prove ownership.
I too have an issue with getting Pinterest to accept the Pinterest catalogue with ETSY listing or using my Hover domain which is claimed on Pinterest.
Did you find a solution?
