Color Theme Not Working

I have been using the new Color Theme bar for a few weeks now. I went into edit mode on my desktop and turned off the Color Theme because I was confused about where the Announcement section was (but then found it!) But then I went to put the Color Theme back on and it no longer works - I see the button that says Add a Color Theme, but when I click on it, it no longer works. I tried using Firefox, Chrome and Explorer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@IndigoInkBoutique  Hi, Is the Color Theme Bar the one which is on your Shop Announcement? If so, I believe you have to be subscribed to Etsy Plus in order to have that feature (I don't know anything about it).

The Shop Announcement use to be up top and I guess Etsy recently moved it down so I was confused and turned off my Color Theme Bar. Right now it is under my picture carousel and it is set to default grey - I had it a dark blue to match my branding colors but then I turned it off and I can not turn it back on. I do have Etsy Plus so I am not sure why I am unable to use this feature. But thanks for commenting!

You have Etsy plus so it should be there.  If you don't have Etsy plus then being able to use it was a fluke.

I have Etsy Plus and that is why I was able to change color - not sure why it stopped working - maybe it was a test or they are still working out the kinks - hoping someone at Etsy sees this post and fixes it!

I see the color theme in your shop, but it s a super pale grey.

Yes, you have to have Etsy plus to have the color themes and the OP does have Etsy plus.

thanks for the comment - I think the super pale grey is the default color. I had a deep blue on before and then took off and now I can't get any color!

just fyi... etsy has not worked out all the kinks for this colour bar... if you have captions below images in About section, they are grey and they do not change colour to be legible. Something I have noticed in the shops I have seen using colour bar.

thank you! I had the color bar on for weeks and was actually enjoying it and now it is at default grey and I am unable to change. I guess I will just keep trying and hoping they fix the kinks!

I looked some more and all the shops I checked that do not have Etsy plus have the light grey color.  The light grey doesn't seem to be related to themes or Etsy plus it seems to be a part of everyone's current front page set up.  I think you need to contact Etsy and tell them themes isn't working for you.

thanks - I actually did contact them! and chatted for 30 minutes and they were not able to help me! I even tried on another computer! Etsy said they would "escalate" my problem and get back to me. We will see. Thank you for your help

I wonder if the color themes just don't work in the test layouts? I'm finally in the front page test layout and I don't see color themes on any shops. Are you in the front page test?

I'm in the layouts test and I see the color themes.  I think the OP's themes are messed up.  Maybe other's themes are too, but no one has noticed yet.  Etsy probably changed something again and it messed something else up.

That's really odd. I'm in the test (or one of them if they are running multiple at once) and I'm not seeing color themes when I look on chrome. Then I checked on Edge and see them.

That is strange as whatever test I'm in I'm seeing color themes on Chrome.

I still am having the issue - I contacted Etsy and was on a chat for about 20 minutes but they could not fix it - they said they would have someone else look into int. They followed up yesterday with an email but it is still not fix - I just tried again this morning. Did you report it?

Ugh, I'm also having this issue. I was updating my shop banner and inadvertently deleted the color theme instead of the shop banner, and there's now way to get it back. I'll message support so they're aware the issue is still happening

EDITED to add - the funny thing is, I'd already seen your thread earlier. So when I went into my dashboard, I was like, "don't try to play around with the theme color, since it might be broken" And then, what is the first thing I did? lol

oh my goodness that is funny, not funny, that you saw my thread and warned yourself and then you inadvertently did it! I am happy you are going to message support - I hope they will finally fix it. I tried again today and it is still not fixed for me.

you should definitely contact Etsy as this is the reply I received from them

"At this time, we do not have a timeline for when this issue will be resolved, but please know that we prioritize issues based on their impact on our members."

Same this has been going on for a week at least. I tried changing my browser but that didn't help. I sure hope they get it fixed.

so if no one contacts them they do not know it is affecting other etsy stores

It's possible Etsy has been working on this area so a glitch happened.  The color bar seems to be based on the banner and shop icon colors.  Have you tried reloading some of these?
