Check All Your Listings' Delivery Estimates, Folks! Plus a Workaround...

I'm in the UK and have all my listings set to 1-2 day processing time, and currently have all my international delivery profiles set to 10-30 day delivery.

I received an order from the US this morning. While I was preparing it, I noticed that Etsy has told the buyer to expect delivery by 'the 14th-16th December'.  This is on the order and on the listing itself.

So I thought I'd made a typo on the delivery profile. But no. Everything was correct. And even weirdly, this glitch ONLY applied to the US, and ONLY to this one particular listing. None of the other international destinations were affected by this glitch, and nor were any of the other 12 listings linked to this delivery profile.

After an hour of tearing my hair out and using some ultra-choice swear words, I found a workaround: I deleted the US from the delivery profile, and Saved. I then added it back in and Saved. And that did the trick.  Too late for this morning's order, of course, which I will no doubt have to refund when it doesn't arrive by the 16th December...

I cannot begin to describe how utterly effed off I am with Etsy at the moment, especially after what happened yesterday, but that's another story...

my dates dispatch 16th same delivery date showing 16th - 20th to the US.  Other orders going to the UK same dispatch date are arriving just a day earlier to the the UK!  You couldn't make this up!  But an AI can make anything up I guess!  Oh and @ChestnuttVintage etsy are more likely going by their santa tracker!  Santa always delivers on time!

These dates are with a 5-7 day lead time.

@ChestnuttVintage what is your processing time and class of shipping on that order?

my processing time is 3-5 days.  Royal Mail international tracked and signed.

Etsy’s hoping you ship it earlier than the ship-by date.

Yes, I think that's what's happening - I do usually ship a bit earlier than the ship by date - I thought I was buying some time against Etsy's unrealistic expectations of the efficiency of Royal Mail.  I'll have to start shipping a couple of days before I tell Etsy I've shipped at this rate which is a nuisance.

The last posting date according to RM to get to US by Christmas is this coming Friday 13th.  Am going to have to keep an eye to see if Etsy is actually aware of things like, you know, Christmas.  If it's still claiming it can get there in time after the last possible RM date I'll have to cancel orders.

And today here we go, the most ridiculous one ever dispatches by the 21st and .....

Buyer expects delivery by: 23 Dec

No range of dates here just will arrive to the US 2 days later!!!  What the???
