I spoke to someone at etsy chat yesterday regarding a help issue. Today, I opened chat again to talk to another agent, but it only shows yesterday's chat. I type that I would like to speak to someone using various words, but no one has responded. This has been going on for hours.
Does this problem have a fix?
This happened to me about 6 months ago. The previous reps don't close out the chat making it impossible to use the chat again. I feel this is intentional because it happens way too often and has been happening for way too long now. I would take a screenshot and mail customer support. I think another poster put up a phone number for Etsy that hadn't yet been turned off so much yelling ensued while they told ME I was pretty much nuts and how chat couldn't possibly be broken. They FINALLY closed out the convo AS PER MY INSISTENCE so my chat is back open but to be honest it's a worthless feature anyway. They can't do ANYTHING on chat and will kick pretty much everything to a "specialist team" who will email you (in about 10 days). Mine is open but I view it now as the nuclear option. One that has a one time use only because I know this will happen again next time and I don't have the fight left in me to chase it down again. May the odds be ever in your favor getting it back open.
