Charge to credit card

Jump to solution

So I don’t know if this was a technical issue or what , I had a buyer purchase an item and somehow choose the shipping charge for usps media mail ( which the sold item Can’t ship that way)when I specifically set up only usps priority and usps ground select , so I had to refund the buyer their sale and they haven’t repurchased , so I’m wondering if there was system failure : also why was my credit card charged the sale of their refund , why wasn’t it taken directly from my Etsy account ????? I don’t understand this

Etsy sends refunds from "available to deposit" and if there isn't enough in there, the remainder is taken from your card.

Funds from todays sales, are in current balance, but do not move to "available to deposit" until the following day, so you didn't have enough to cover the refund.

Did it happen today? Did you get a deposit yesterday (which would've cleared out your account). If so, then it goes off your credit card.

If there isn't enough in your available for deposit (funds from a sale aren't available until the next day) then refunds are charged to your credit card on file.
