Hey Community!
Recently I got burned (again) by Etsy Calculated shipping undercharging for Priority Mail upgrades so I changed to a fixed price Shipping Profile. Also, because I can't add package/handling costs, and increasing my prices again to cover it (which causes my sales to go down with all the increases in fees and competition from mass sellers), I decided to have fixed shipping prices .50 over what the average calculated shipping costs. Problem is that when I go to my Shipping Labels page I have to manually enter weight and dimensions for each order. I have checked my listings and ship profile and everything is complete with that info. Any suggestions on why this is happening? Thanks much for your help!!
With fixed price shipping your package sizes nor the weight will auto-load on your print label page.
Reason is because you don't enter package size and weight for fixed shipping.
Since you have to enter that info for calculated shipping and shipping is figured on box/weight, it auto-loads on the label page (though sometimes that info will need tweaking).
ETA if calculated shipping is not charging enough for Priority, then something is amiss in your info.
Either the weight wasn't correct or the box size you used was different than what the calculator suggested.
I think the OP may be referring to the listing area that defaults to CS.
@Maetri In the shipping area, click on Create profile. Then drop down calculate it for me to select fixed shipping.
It's easier if you have a fixed shipping profile you can select.
Sorry CS didn't work for you. I love CS. Don't like fixed.
CS works well if you enter weight and dimensions correctly and have the rest filled out such as package preferences. That may be why it didn't work for you.
With fixed shipping you must enter dimensions and weight manually when buying the label.

Fixed rate shipping means that if you charge $5 for shipping, you may have to pay more for the label from Vermont to California for instance than you will if you mail it to me in Virginia, which may be less that $5, depending on the weight of the package.
