Just tried signing in a few minutes ago.  What is with the CAPTCHA?  I had to do about five of them to get logged in. Please do not make this a regular sign in thing.   Thanks

That's not solely an Etsy thing. Google it to find an explanation about it and possible solutions. The occurrence often has to do with your device or browser settings or your logging practices.

As ChristmasLove mentioned, this is probably entirely a decision by Google as to how many steps you have to go through before they decide you are not a bot.

Well, this is the first time in a long, long time that I had Captcha, and it happened again just now.  I use Chrome and have not changed settings, nor requested it to be put into practice.  No other website I have gone on today has Captcha set, and again, I'm using Chrome.  It is so frustrating that this is popping up when you just want to log in and do things. 

Now, I have to spend MY time to figure out what is causing a CAPTCHA on the Etsy site because it may not be Etsy or it could be my browner or something else. No one likes these things.

Okay, my rant is done.  Sigh.

Captcha occurs whenever you have made a change to your browser, signed in differently on the browser, had a power failure, updated your computer, etc.  Anything can trigger it.

I get it sometimes depending on the updates Windows makes. 

It is a security measure so as much as it is a nuisance it is needed until a better system is found.

Not true--- I have only 1 device, use 1 browser,  have not updated in a long time, and I get captcha every time iI use Etsy. I just went through 19 captchas before I could get to my own seller account page.  Getting so fed up that I will let my items expire and stay with eBay.

When CAPTCHA is required, there are many different scripts you can use to achieve it. Etsy has just picked one of the most annoying ones. Luckily, I usually only get it fairly infrequently after  a Windows update.

I think I know the problem.  Yesterday I signed up for Alura Extension.  I'm thinking this is the issue.  Now I'm trying to cancel the free Alura account and how to do that if you're using the free version is not apparent.  I think I just want to disconnect Alura from my Etsy Shop.  Anyone have any ideas on this?

Found out how to disconnect!!!!  Hopefully this makes the difference in logging in.

FYI - the Alura Extension apparently was causing the CAPTCHA problem.  Hope this helps anyone down the road. All I did was disconnect the Alura from the Etsy Shop.

Etsy's captchas discriminate against individuals with disabilities.

@KristerEideArt   I believe there is a place to request another method.  I have sight issues and it is irritating when I have to do complete the catpcha but I take my time to find all the photos.  Yeah with my sight it's hard.

If the request is not there for another method (I haven't had to do one is a few months) then contact Etsy to request that they consider people with your disability to supply another way as well.
