Capcha failed, then "an error has occured" on pc
I know this topic has been on the forum since 2022. I can't seem to log in my etsy account on pc, using edge browser. I've tried reinstalling java, and now I keep getting the red message "An error has occured, please try again!". This issue hasn't been solved since 2022 at least.

Re: Capcha failed, then "an error has occured" on pc
I use Edge and while I get the capcha every so often when there is a major change to Edge I have been able get past it. (I also say a few choice words as I am doing it)
What version of your browser do you have? Have you updated Edge everytime it requests to update. I don't mess with JavaScript so I simply do the updates. Is your Edge able to work with your OS? There have been many upgrades to Microsoft OS over time along with Edge so I suspect it is your system and not Etsy's that is the issue?
Do you run utilities to clean out your computer and removed dendritis that may be interfering? Als do you clean out your modem/wifi?

Re: Capcha failed, then "an error has occured" on pc
@NMNillustration: reCaptcha issues are a sore topic and it is always difficult to know if it is Google's or Etsy's "fault". Browser and system updates are often one of the things that trigger reCaptcha.
The version of Java you are running is immaterial to the Edge browser unless you are running in Internet Explorer emulation mode and trying to run Java modules in the browser - which Etsy does not use. If you meant Javascript then that is an entirely different beast and the browser takes care of updating what it needs.
It sounds more like either your browser is sending incomplete data or the server which is serving you is having issues. Have you tried a different browser just to see what happens?

Hey there, I've tried Brave browser and firefox and still got the issue. I may try to update windows tomorrow. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with strict nat bc this is up to my isp.

Just use Chrome instead? I use 3 browsers and I would say it is the best for Etsy.
