Hello everyone,
I decided to try my luck here before I go through the nightmare of contacting Etsy Support.
So, I wish to upload photos in a new listing and cannot do it through my computer. Photos are in .jpg format but they were originally in a different format. I changed them to .jpg. Every time I try to upload them via computer it just fails. I did update my browser. The photos are around 2Mb.
I am not sure if this issue is related to the fact that they were not originally taken in .jpg format or if there is some horrible bug with the photo uploader in my shop.
I should also mention that I can upload them via the app but the image quality is really poor and images are blurry.
Has anyone had a similar issue and how did you resolve it?
Thank you.
Did you see this Help Center article? It sounds like the size might be at least part of the issue, since your files are more than twice the max size recommended. The format might as well.
I did, but I have been uploading even larger images and never had the issue.
What was the original file format?
Were the images in Apple heic format?
Did you convert the images to jpg, or just change the filename?
Will they open in a photo editor?
The maximum file size for upload to Etsy is actually 10MB, not the 1MB stated on their help page. The last listing image files I uploaded were in the region of 6 to 8.5MB each.

They were in that HEIC format. I did convert them to .jpg. Not change the name but converted. The issue persisted. Now I added a new listing where the images were originally in .jpg and it went fine. I think the issue was that the images were originally in HEIC so I will just make sure in the future to take photos in .jpg originally. Thank you everyone.
